ROTARY BUS TOUR 2016

ROTARY MEMBER (HOST RESPONSIBILITIES)

1) Please arrive at Centre 2000 about 6:45 pm on the evening you are the Rotary Club greeter. Find out who is the tour host that night and introduce yourself to him/her.

2) Obtain from the tour guide the gift you will be giving away that evening. It’s usually something such as a coffee mug, or other small momento from the our region.

3) At 7 pm, at the tour guide’s instruction, please board the bus. Stand at the front of the bus, alongside the tour guide. When you are prompted by the tour guide, please introduce yourself, stating that you are a member of the Grande Prairie Rotary Club. Mention that we have sponsored the city bus tour for over 20 years now and that there are four Rotary Clubs, one Rotaract Club and a number of Interact Clubs in Grande Prairie and area, totalling well over 300 Rotarians in our city. Worldwide, Rotary dates back over 110 years and now has over 1.2 million members throughout the globe.

4) After your short introduction, lasting no more than two minutes, please ask the riders where each of them are from. Then, give away a prize to the person who came from the farthest away.

5) Introduce your tour guide at this time and tell the crowd that they are in good hands and will no doubt enjoy their hour and a half long tour of Grande Prairie and area. Wave goodbye to one-and-all and exit from the bus. (You do have the option of remaining and going on the tour if you’d like.)

*** It is imperative that if you have signed up to greet riders on this program that you do show up, or find a replacement. We will attempt to contact people the day before their tour date or the day of their tour, (courtesy call reminder) but it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure you show up. If you have questions or cannot meet your obligation, or find a replacement, please call Don Whiteford, Bus Tour Committee Chairperson - 2016, at 780-518-9734 (C).
