WISCONSIN VALLEY FAIR RESIDENCE CAMP PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

Wisconsin Valley Fair Residence Camp participants are expected to be responsible individuals conducting themselves in an appropriate manner at all times.

All Junior Fair Residence Camp Participants shall agree to the following rules:

1. No camper, or other person entering Marathon Hall, shall possess or be in the presence of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, or other illegal drugs. The only exceptions are aspirin or similar “over the counter” products, or drugs prescribed by a physician.

2. Only registered campers are allowed to stay in the hall. Non-campers found in the hall during curfew hours will be asked to leave. Room doors are to be kept locked at all times unless someone is in the room.

3. Participants will be charged for any damages done to the room during the fair. These charges will be divided equally among residents of the room if no individual is found to be responsible for the damages.

4. Participants must adhere to curfews:

Tuesday-Saturday 9:30 p.m. (Grades 3 through 7) Tuesday-Thursday 10:30 p.m. (Grades 8 through 13) Friday-Saturday 11:30 p.m. (Grades 8 through 13)

Note: . Grade level is the year that was just completed in Spring. . Room check is at curfew time. . Quiet hour begins one-half hour after curfew. . Campers will only be allowed on the floor of the residence hall designated for their gender during curfew hours. . Adult Supervisor is on duty throughout the night. . Passes and escorts will be available for after hours milking in the dairy barn with prior approval of Residence Camp Supervisor and parent. . Youth may exit the dorm unescorted at 4:30 am NO EXCEPTIONS.

5. A maximum of three (3) persons may register per room. Participants must exhibit at the fair. Animal exhibitors will be given first priority.

6. Electronic equipment (i.e., games, radios, etc.) may be used in the rooms but must be used quietly if played before breakfast or after 10 p.m. Floor assistants have the authority to remove the equipment after the first warning.

7. Only the lobby (front) doors may be used to enter or leave the hall. A fire alarm system is connected to the back doors and will be activated if the doors are opened. The hall is carpeted so you must make a special effort to clean your shoes before entering.

8. UW-Marathon Center Classroom Building is "off limits" to campers, except for meals in the dining hall.

The Junior Fair Board defines appropriate action for breaking the stated rules as any one, or all, of the following:

a. Remove individual and their projects from the present year's Junior Fair with premiums revoked; b. Require an appearance of offender before the Junior Fair Board to explain their action; c. Revoke privilege to stay at Fair Residence Camp this year and/or future years; d. Deny refund of camp fees.

Fair Residence Camp Staff operate under the authority of the Wisconsin Valley Fair and the Junior Fair Board. They have the authority to implement the following actions, if necessary to enforce rules and curfews:

a. Notify emergency medical personnel if there is reason to believe it's necessary; b. Notify the appropriate authorities; c. Notify parents or guardians to pick up individual(s) involved immediately; d. Request Junior Fair Board Action: Junior Fair Board policy states that anyone violating the above rules may be barred from Fair Residence Camp this year, and projects may be removed (with any premiums earned revoked). No refund of camp fee will be made. Individuals may be barred from Fair Residence Camp for one year following the incident, but will be allowed to show that year. The individual may stay at Fair Residence Camp after one year, on a probationary basis. If, during that probationary period, any of the above rules are broken, the individual will be permanently barred.

Meal information: Full time registration, ($95), includes all meals from Wednesday noon through Sunday breakfast. Part time registration, ($25), includes two meals per day (supper and breakfast). Tuesday night camping (additional $15) is available for Horse exhibitors…they do not receive meals.

Meals will be served to Fair Residence Campers in the UWMC Cafeteria.

Meal wristbands will be issued at the time of Check-In. Lost or broken meal wristbands will be replaced for $2.00 each.

If, for any reason, you need to check out early, you MUST let the Fair Residence Camp Director check your room, and complete your paperwork before leaving. If this procedure is not followed, you may be charged a $30.00 fee and for any damages that occur after you leave the room.
