STEPHANIE EKEN, M.D., APPOINTED AS ROGERS’ REGIONAL MEDICAL DIRECTOR
(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Stephanie C. Eken, M.D., has been appointed as regional medical director for the Rogers Behavioral Health System’s partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, effective September 2014.
Dr. Eken, who has been with Rogers since 2009, begins her new role with responsibility for medical leadership at Rogers’ first out-of-state satellite location, Rogers Behavioral Health – Tampa Bay, opening in Florida in September.
Dr. Eken’s career at Rogers includes serving as the medical director of the Child Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital’s Oconomowoc, Wis. campus. This psychiatric residential treatment program is dedicated to treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression and mood disorders, tourette syndrome and other tic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and more. The new programs in Florida will focus on treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders for children, teens and adults.
“As a triple board-certified pediatrician, child and adolescent psychiatrist and adult psychiatrist, Dr. Eken’s clinical background is valuable in discovering effective ways to meet a patient’s physical and emotional needs,” said Paul Mueller, chief executive officer for Rogers Memorial Hospital. “Her leadership brought the Child Center national recognition as a one-of-a-kind treatment center. Now her experience and knowledge in complex mental health issues will be an asset as we continue to meet the needs of local communities.”
Dr. Eken stated, “It’s been a privilege the past five years to work with Rogers’ administrative team, medical staff and the Child Center staff to bring evidence-based, psychiatric care to children. I am excited to
April 2014 have the new opportunity to lead our regional programs and bring the same quality care we provide in Wisconsin to children, teens and adults in other communities.”
Dr. Eken earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and served as chief resident during her training at the University of Kentucky. She is a fellow for the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Academy of Pediatrics and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).
In Tampa, Dr. Eken will partner with Eric Storch, Ph.D ., a University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine professor and clinical psychologist, who was recently announced as clinical director for the program.
