Vestry Meeting 6/10/08

Barbara Partridge presiding. Present: Rand Reasoner, Carol Barker, Dan Hendricks, Bandele Oguntomilade.,. Bruce Schofield, Amanda Somdal, Sue Ferron. Guest Michelle Schofield.

Absent: Stu Finke, Elizabeth Hart, Steve Laslo, Greg Michael, Dauna Packer.

Called to order at 7:10 p.m.

$6000 from CD put into Diocesian Investment Trust Capital Fund.

Plans for Stewardship – Consecration Sunday (in November) Catered brunch after 8 & 10 a.m., dessert for 5 p.m. worship service. Guest preacher for Consecration Sunday will be Bishop Gethin Hughes (second Vicar of Prince of Peace).

Youth Group leadership update -- Still looking for a permanent full time employee. While our volunteer Lisa is in Europe for 6-8 weeks, Will Michael and Kirk Somdal are acting as leaders with Father Brian assisting. Prayerful consideration is requested about offering Lisa a part time job.

Adat rental -- Firm on hours. Raw costs. Took the lowest. Is there a way to gradually step up the rent? In negotiations with another congregation. Carol suggests that if we do sign another agreement with Adat that we set up a schedule to look again at prices on a regular basis.

Start up Sunday BBQ Sept. 7 Vestry will be involved.

Bruce brought in preliminary ideas for patio redo to help drainage and smooth out patio. Very nice first effort. The architects know they will only get a tax receipt.

Stations of the cross – Lynn found a donor for outdoor stations of the cross which could be included in the patio layout or by the Labyrinth.

Pentecost Sunday -- Birthday Church

Carol agreed to take notes for July. Follow up with Marsha for May notes..

Facilities report – Lynn Klein’s son will fix cracks inside – Dan Hendricks said he will be working on enclosing the air conditioning unit. There may be a work party in summer?

Pentecost Sunday , 2009 will be POP Church’s 50th birthday.
