Dear 5th and 6th Grade Parents,
Band Sign Up Night Date: Thursday October 6th Time: 5:00-7:00PM (Open House) Place: Athlos School Music Room #119
Band instruments offered to 5th and 6th grade students: Flute Clarinet Alto Saxophone Trumpet Trombone Percussion (Piano experience required, but not necessarily required)
Options for getting your instrument:
1. You may purchase/rent your instrument through Eckroth Music. They have a rent-to-own program where you pay a monthly fee until you own your instrument. This is the best option as instruments that come from the music store are in great condition! 2. Previously owned instrument from a family member 3. Pawn shop 4. Online- Craigslist, Ebay a. Options #2, #3, #4: These instruments may need to be cleaned or sent into a repair shop. Please take a look at the acceptable brands of instruments below before considering purchasing an instrument online or at a Pawn Shop.
***Please let me know if you are unable to attend the Open House and what option you are planning on to purchase an instrument.
***If you already own an instrument and are not planning on getting an instrument through Eckroth Music, I would still like to meet with you and your child to check over your instrument. You can also purchase a band book and music stand through Eckroth Music.

These instruments are known to be produced using lower quality materials, are more difficult to play, and will have no resale value in the future. I encourage you to save your money and buy an instrument from a manufacturer known for quality and longevity.
