Wendy Lickacz is a graduate student at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada in the inaugural Human Security and Peace Building program. Wendy works for the Government of Canada in the department of Western Economic Diversification as a Business Officer. She is responsible for Community Economic and Social Development and building management capacity in small and medium sized businesses. Other career highlights include reintegrating maximum security female offenders into communities, serving as an immigration officer abroad and in Canada and teaching graduate-level international business. Her professional credentials include a Certified International Trade Practitioner (CITP) and a Canadian Registered Social Worker (BSW/RSW). Wendy is a member of Rotary International and serves on the World Community Service. As an artist, she has an interest in writing icons, studying Byzantine art and singing.
Wendy’s goal is to continue building her business, SoleWorksSoul, as an educator and facilitator. Her vision is to assist individuals and communities in the aftermath of conflict. Wendy’s professional experience and academic achievements have led to her development of a structured approach to human and community sustainability.
Wendy returns to Africa 28 years after a youth internship with Canada World Youth in Senegal.
