TIM “BOOMER” FERGUSON Tim “Boomer” Ferguson is Inspector General of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs in Largo, Fla.
The retired Air Force Colonel provides a central point for coordination of and responsibility for activities that promote accountability, integrity and efficiency in the department. The Inspector General conducts independent and objective audits, investigations and management reviews relating to department programs and operations.
Colonel Ferguson is an Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom veteran and served in a variety of Security Forces and leadership positions including flight commander, operations officer, Major Command and Combatant Command staff officer, four time squadron commander, and was a mission support group commander and a vice wing commander. He retired from active duty in 2014 after more than 28 years of service.
He graduated from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force through their ROTC program. He has a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Chapman University.
