FUNERAL HELD ON TUESDAY FOR TILLMAN MOSER

Tillman Moser, 62, lifelong resident of this community, died at 1:22 a.m. Saturday in his home at 405 West Water street following an illness of two years. Death was attributed to cancer. He had been in critical condition for several days. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Missionary church of which he was a member. Rev. C. Edwin Prosser will officiate and burial will be in the M.R.E. Moser is a graduate of Berne high school and was one of the members of the original Berne Bears. He was employed at the Dunbar Furniture plant for 17 years prior to working at Franklin Electric at Bluffton. He was employed at the local school in maintenance for 12 years. A native of Berne, Moser was born August 17, 1911, a son of Peter and Jennie McBride Moser. He was married to Martha M. Hiester, Nov. 29, 1934. Surviving in addition to the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Herman, R.R. 1, Geneva; Mrs. Ronald Richard (Phyllis) Black, Decatur; and Patty A. Moser, at home; three sons, Maurice Moser, Berne; Clyde A. Moser, Fort Wayne; and Kenneth L. Moser, who is in military service and stationed at Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren, four brothers, Dennis and Ivan W. Moser both of Bluffton; Willis D. Moser, Woodburn and Amos E. Moser, Berne; two sisters, Mrs. Homer (Hilda) Amstutz and Mrs. Harry (Elma) Eckrote, both of Berne. A son, Derry and two brothers, Laverne and Edwin, preceded in death. The body is at the Yager funeral home where friends may call. [photo]
