In a Single Plan for Student Achievement, a focus on results is central to the school’s effectiveness. Without reviewing results, it would be unlikely that the school could assess their effectiveness in improving student learning. In Learning by Doing, they identify a four-step feedback loop to help guide school personnel to identify and improve upon problem areas:

 Check: Analyze, assess, and report on results (Using the assessment data gathered through common school grade level/department assessments and district assessments to review student learning results)  Act: Decide what changes must be made to improve the process (plan), and adjust accordingly

Check: Analyze, Assess and Report on Results:

1 List the assessments (school and district) used last school year - How we monitored student learning on essential standards? English Language Arts English Language Development Mathematics

 What are the summary results for the above assessments (Attach or provide data here)?

 Do the summary results tell us if the students are acquiring the knowledge and skills we have determined are most essential (essential standards)?

 What do the results tell us about instructional pacing, strategies, classroom practice, materials, and assessments we used to determine if students were learning our essential standards?

 What evidence do we have that the analysis of student results impacts classroom practice?

 What evidence do we have that the Professional Development program has been effective in improved student achievement?

2  The focus of our Professional Development Program was ______for this evaluation.

 If some assessments were given multiple times during the school year, what evidence do we have or not have of improved student learning?

 What evidence do you have that the results from your assessments were used to identify students who required more time, extra support, and/or intervention?

 What evidence/results do we have that your system of interventions improved students learning for those students that participated?

Act: Decide what changes must be made to improve student achievement, and adjust the plan accordingly. (List changes below)
