Aphyllophorales (Basidiomycetes). Taxonomy, Ecology and Distri bution. Akademisk avhandling som med tillstånd av rektorsämbetet vid Umeå universitet för avläggande av filosofie doktorsexamen framlägges till offentlig granskning vid Avdelningen för ekologisk botanik, Botanik, Fysiologi, Hufo, sem.-rum B, tisdagen den 27 maj 1975, kl. 10. Abstract Wood-inhabiting fungi were collected on different trees in 99 loca-' lities of alder woods, dominated by Alnus incana or occasionally A. glutinosa, in N-C Sweden and C Norway. Most of the localities are situated near the east coast of Sweden where the prevailing land elevation creates conditions suitable for colonization by alder. The remaining localities are mainly found in the inland parts of Sweden and Norway, along streams, in ravines etc. The investigated localities are briefly described as to their general vegetation, and a regional survey of the alder forests is given. The number of collections of Aphyllophorales amounts to approxi mately 5,000, comprising 286 species. The following new combinations are proposed: Hypoohnicium polonense (Bres.) Strid, H. pruinosum (Bres.) Strid, Phlebia lindtneri (Pil.) Parm. and Sistotrema hete- roncmum (John Erikss.) Strid. Seven species are collected as new to Scandinavia, viz., Botryobasidium aure urn3 Ceratobasidium stridiit Hyphoderma orphanellum, Hyphodontiella multiseptata, Hypoohnicium pruinosum> Phlebia lindtneri and Tubuliorinis effugiens, and approxi mately 85 additional species are reported for the first time from the investigation area. Six specimens of Cortioiaoeae have remained undetermined but are included in the species list. -

Kummer and its acceptance as type species of Armillaria (Fr.:Fr.) Staude. Due to recognition of different type species over the years and an extremely variable generic concept, at least 274 species and varieties have been placed in Armillaria (or in Armillariella Karst., its obligate synonym). Only about forty species belong in the genus Armillaria sensu stricto, while the rest can be placed in forty-three other modem genera. This study is based on original descriptions in the literature, as well as studies of type specimens and generic and species concepts by other authors. This publication consists of an alphabetical listing of all epithets used in Armillaria or Armillariella, with their basionyms, currently accepted names, and other obligate and facultative synonyms. -

Mycosphere 4(4), 848–854, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/4/4/18 Abstract This paper provides information on the new record of Woldmaria filicina in Russia. This rare and interesting member of the cyphellaceous fungi was found in the Novosibirsk Region of Western Siberia in the forest-steppe zone, on dead stems of the previous year of the fern Matteuccia struthiopteris. A description of the species is given along with images of fruiting bodies of the fungus and its microstructures, information on the ecology and general distribution and data on the literature and internet sources. Key words – cyphellaceous fungi – forest-steppe – new data – microhabitats – Woldmaria filicina Introduction This paper is devoted to the description of an interesting member of the cyphellaceous fungi – Woldmaria filicina—found for the first time in the vast area of Siberia. This species was previously known from Europe, including the European part of Russia and the Urals but was found the first time in the forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia. Despite the large scale of the territory and well-studied biodiversity of aphyllophoroid fungi (808 species are known from Western Siberia) this species has not previously been recorded here, and information is provided on the specific substrate and the habitat of the fungus at this new locality. -

The exploring botanical and zoological researches began in 1928. The results late served as a basis of the three territory to become a nature reserve by law. BARTHA (1993) outlined the brief history of mushroom studies in the Nyírség area, listing some internationally recognized scientists like Frigyes Hazslinszky (1818-1896), László Hollós (1859-1940) and Raymund Rapaics involved in the work though in their studies they never referred to this area. The first mycology-related facts are found in the work of BOROS (1923). Academist GÁBOR UBRIZSY started a significant work on mycology studies around that time from 1937 which he extended over the whole Nyirség area (UBRIZSY 1941, 1942, 1943, 1947).
