SECTION 09915 – PIPING IDENTIFICATION

PART 1 - GENERAL

0.1 SUMMARY

A. This Section includes piping identification materials and their installation.

B. Related Sections include the following: 1. Chrysler Manufacturing Technical Instruction SMI - 111, Instructions For The Identification Of Piping Systems. 2. Division 9 Section "Painting" for painting requirements.

0.2 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate installation of identifying devices with completion of covering and painting of surfaces where devices are to be applied.

B. Coordinate with mechanical trades for piping system types and appropriate identification names.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

0.1 PRODUCTS

A. Provide products specified or complying with the requirements specified in SMI - 111, Instructions For The Identification of Piping Systems.

B. Paint materials are specified in Division 9 Section "Painting."

PART 3 - EXECUTION

0.1 INSTALLATION

A. Comply with SMI - 111 for installation of manufactured pipe markers.

A. Apply paint as specified in Division 9 Section "Painting" on each piping system requiring full color coding. In no instance shall there be more than 50 feet between identification labels.

B. If mechanical identification materials and devices have become visually blocked by other work, relocate the identification materials and devices so as not to be blocked.

0.2 CLEANING

A. Clean faces of mechanical identification devices.

A.
