1 [4574] 1 1 2 Whereas, he has served: as Executive Director of the South 3 Carolina Athletic Administrators Association since 1992; as 4 Coordinator for the South Carolina Spring Conference for 5 Athletics since 1986; and on the Executive and Finance 6 Committees of the South Carolina High School League since 7 1997; and 8 9 Whereas, Coach Carlisle has received numerous honors, which 10 include being named: The Greenville News-Piedmont County 11 Football Coach of the Year in 1977, 1988, and 1992; The State 12 Newspaper AAAA Football Coach of the Year in 1977; Kellogg’s 13 Coach of the Year for South Carolina for 1977; Eastside YMCA 14 Volunteer of the Year for 1982; recipient of the Kiwanis Club of 15 Greenville Distinguished Service Award in 1988; Head Football 16 Coach of the 1990 North-South All Star Game; Head Football 17 Coach of the 1992 Shrine Bowl Team; South Carolina Athletic 18 Coaches Association Athletic Director of the Year in 1991 and 19 1993; and Carolina Panthers High School Coach of the Week in 20 1999; and 21 22 Whereas, in 1999, the National Interscholastic Athletic 23 Administrators Association presented him with its National 24 Distinguished Service Award for his many years of commitment to 25 high school athletics; and 26 27 Whereas, it is only fitting and proper that the members of the 28 South Carolina General Assembly take this opportunity to 29 recognize the many accomplishments of Coach Carlisle. Now, 30 therefore, 31 32 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 33 concurring: 34 35 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 36 Carolina hereby congratulate and honor Athletic Director and 37 Head Football Coach, John Parker Carlisle III, of Greenville 38 County on receiving the 1999 National Interscholastic Athletic 39 Administrators Association (NIAAA) National Distinguished 40 Service Award and for thirty-five years of dedicated service to 41 high school athletics. 42
