Are your graduating seniors or alumni interested in an international business career?
For over twenty-five years, the Mountbatten Institute has provided recent graduates and young professionals with a way to build professional relationships abroad while developing the necessary skills to succeed in the global marketplace. Applications for our March 2011 London Program are currently being accepted.
Each year approximately 200 young graduates participate in this unique opportunity that combines a one- year paid internship in the fast paced financial capital of London with academic instruction, leading to a Postgraduate Certificate (PGC) or MBA in International Business Practice. Both qualifications are awarded by St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, London.
The internships are intensive, set in fast paced and dynamic work environments. Participants develop skills quickly and must be prepared to hit the ground running upon arrival in London. Sponsors include Fortune 500 companies and other internationally recognized organizations such as UBS Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank, Thomson Reuters, Merrill Lynch, Hogan Lovells LLP, Fragomen LLP, and Credit Suisse among others. Candidates compete for available positions, primarily in finance, but also in accounting, HR, IT, marketing and communications, and law.
The PGC and MBA programs are designed to link workplace practice and business theory for those who wish to experience a new dimension of postgraduate study and career enhancement. Participants are required to develop a variety of analytical business skills within their sponsor companies. They are exposed to challenging and demanding work environments that will develop both their people and decision- making skills. Courses for both the PGC and the MBA teach participants the latest knowledge in a variety of areas ranging from management and organizational behavior to international accounting and global marketing. Distinguished adjunct professors recruited from prestigious universities, including Cass Business School, Bristol, Edinburgh, and UCL, offer valuable insight into the world of international business. Faculty members have extensive experience in real-world business, from high-end fashion, to consultancy, to international marketing.
Following the year in London, MBA students complete their degree through an intensive semester of full- time study in Bangkok, Thailand. During the residential semester, participants build upon the knowledge and skills developed in London with particular emphasis given to Asia’s role in the global economy.
Participants live in furnished apartments in Central London and receive a monthly living allowance of GBP £615. Support is provided throughout the year by our experienced and dedicated staff in London. Accommodation and other services are provided to MBA students in Bangkok.
Program participants come away with personal, professional and academic experiences that can change the course of a lifetime, including international hands-on corporate training, a worldwide network of peers and an academic qualification that significantly broadens a young professional's field of opportunity.
