Members Present: David Arreguin, Melissa Banuelos, Stephanie Ding, Tammy Donaldson, Cheryl Garner, Dianna Guerrero, Jane Haas, Jonda Halcomb, Doug Harley, Christine Lamb, Gracie Martinez, Eric Moller, Jennifer Oden, Sushil Pallemoni, Patricia Walter, Gwynell Westervelt

I. Call to order at 2:02

II. Previous Minutes Approved

III. Calendaring: The council will meet in either late January or February.

IV. Committee Reports

A. Advising: Committee debated centralized versus embedded advising and asked how to get faculty involved, what training looks like, cost and time, etc. Task force has been appointed by Provost. Objectives of committee may need to be redefined. Council discussed Advising Handbook for faculty. B. Scholarship/Bylaws: Scholarships have been accepted, except for one student who dropped below 6-hour requirement. Council approved multiple title changes in bylaws, i.e. FSEM to Student Success. C. Data: S. Pallemoni presented analysis of test scores from spring and fall ’14. D. Website: D. Harley has I.T. permission and software installed to make changes to website and has started updating basic info, photos, etc. Info that needs to be on website should be sent to Harley. E. Miscellaneous Report: Dr. Walter will take the Council’s thoughts on who should be required to complete Student Success course to the Committee.

V. New Business

A. Developmental Education Advising – Recommendations on advising should be sent to E. Bertero. B. Q.E.P. Update - Forty essays were submitted to scholarship contest which readers must filter to smaller group by end of November. C. Conferences: NADE conference in South Carolina in February. North Texas Community College Consortium forum in Dallas in April. VI. Adjournment at 3:25
