2. Learnings from 2010 Workshop a. Technical sessions b. Continuing education courses c. Discussion sessions d. Breakout sessions e. Side trip f. Social events  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, 2010 - Learnings from 2010 Workshop. - Celeste Cicerone  Having on-line wireless internet was very helpful.  Next year will have a printer.  Weatherford “wine savvy” reception was very good.  Need to organize presenters’ gifts for next year.  Courses were very well received.  Some people went to courses they didn’t sign up for.  Send a reminder e-mail in advance.  Use one generic background for course materials. Should be white.

- Joe Clegg  Would like to have more young, good looking gals.  Need to have a design course.

Ken Decker  Enjoyed networking with all of the people.  Good discussion with PTC and Statoil.  They think this is the best Gas-Lift Workshop in the world.  Would like more presentations on “new” technologies.  Need to start advertising earlier.  Only two presentations by Operating Companies.  Some thought that the API meetings were part of the draw for attending.

- Cleon Dunham  Would like to have a Technical Review Committee.  Cleon Dunham and Tommy Nations will explore this.  Presentations in PDF are not good.  Need to have an author’s breakfast.

- Lisa Elliott  It is important to have good traffic at the Exhibit Booths.  Need to tell others about this.  Willing to advertise using Service Company mailing lists.

- Mike Johnson  Would have been good to have two screens in the room.  Was glad to have his supervisor come.  Glad to have new ideas presented.  Generate a general “rule” about use of company names, trade marks, etc.  Need to tell people about the “wifi” code.  Mrs. Blann really appreciated our “honoring” Jack Blann.

 Good papers – better on the 2nd day.  Timing was good.  Some complained that room was too cold

- Wayne Mabry  Enjoyed Bill White, but some were turned off by him being a Democrat.  Would like more Operating Company participation.  We need to encourage Operating Company management to send their people.

- Juan Carlos Mantecon  Good food.  Good coffee.  Arrangements and planning were good.  Presentations should not be commercial.  But some limited amount may be worthwhile.

- John Martinez  Need to discuss continuing education.  Time to stop having “Artificial Lift” selection.  Need to continue a design course.  In Singapore can have a course on Dynamic Simulation?  Need to also have a course on dual gas-lift, operations, and automation.  For 2012, consider other locations in Houston.  Nice space in hotel for Exhibits, food, etc.  Need local advertising – TV, newspaper, etc.

- Tom Nations  Turnout was very good.  Maybe advertise earlier in the year.  Good Exhibitor turnout and good traffic at the exhibits.  Placement of the Exhibits was good.  Enjoyed networking opportunity and to see old friends.  ConocoPhillips was the only major Oil Company to Sponsor.

- Greg Stephenson  Lee Mathews from Qatar said this is the best Workshop in the Industry  How can we reach out to more Operating Companies?  Need Service Companies to invite their e-mail lists.  Sell “day” passes.  Somebody said to include other forms of lift.  Having the “wine” event on Wednesday was a good time.

- Ron Schmidt  Agree with other comments.  Use clip-on microphones for speakers.  Agenda/Minutes – Mar. 30, 2010 - Are there any further learnings from the 2010 Workshop? - There has been a great deal of discussion about whether or not ASME will continue to sponsor international workshops. - Initially they said they would not. - Now they are considering it. - If they won’t, there are alternatives. - The ASME Petroleum Division Executive Committee has agreed to go ahead with the 2011 Gas-Lift WorkshopMay 26, 2010 --- Meeting Agendas and Minutes Page 4

event; both domestic and international. - This is being reviewed in New York. - We should have final approval from New York this week.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Tim Graves: Has approval for the 2011 Workshop in Singapore been received from ASME in New York? - Tim Graves: We do have approval from New York.

3. Gas-Lift Workshop Budgets and Finances a. Status of Financials for the 2010 Workshop. b. Budget for the 2011 Workshop.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Tim Graves: What is the status of the final Financial Report for the 2010 Workshop? - Tim Graves: Is there any new information on the Budget for the 2011 Workshop? - Tim Graves: The financials for 2010 are set. - Tim Graves: The budget for 2011 is OK.

4. Venue for 2011 workshop c. Per our normal rotation, the 2011 Workshop will be in an international location. d. Are we all in agreement with having it in Singapore? e. What hotel is recommended? f. What dates are recommended?  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, 2010 - Discuss the venue for the 2011 Workshop in Singapore. ======- Eric Lovie of Schlumberger is moving to Singapore and will be helpful. - We need to line up support from other companies in the area. - We need to have Presentations from the area. - Make a flier and a “request for presentations” for Schlumberger, etc. to handout. Done. - Obtain contact information on each SPE chapter in the area and “buy” an ad to be placed in their local newsletters. - Add Eric Lovie to the Steering Committee: [email protected] Done  Agenda/Minutes – Mar. 30, 2010 - Are there any additional comments on the venue for the 2011 Workshop in Singapore? - ASME and Schlumberger will work on securing the actual venue in Singapore.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Celeste Cicerone: Have ASME and Schlumberger secured the actual venue in Singapore? - We need to know this so we can place this information on the web site. - Cleon Dunham will visit with Schlumberger to get this underway. (This is underway.)  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Celeste Cicerone: Have ASME and Schlumberger secured the actual venue in Singapore? - We need to know this so we can place this information on the web site. - We are looking at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore. - This was selected by ASME. Schlumberger wasn’t involved with the selection. - We still need to negotiate a contact with them. 5. Costs for 2011 workshop a. How much should we charge for registration? Cost in 2010 = $575 b. How much for Continuing Education? Cost in 2010 = $545 c. How much for Exhibits? Cost in 2010 = $600, $900, $1200  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4 , Mar. 30, 2010 - Should we stay with the same charges for the 2011 Workshop? - Or, given the extra costs of an overseas Workshop, we could increase the costs to: - Registration: $650 - Continuing Education $600 - Exhibits: $700, $1000, $1400 - Thoughts? - The amounts listed above are agreed for the 2011 Workshop. - We will not charge a higher amount for late registration. - We will not have a one-day one day charge. - The rate for staffing a booth only will be $150 per day. - We will give a discount to active API/ISO members who are actually working on current API/ISO documents. - They will pay the full amount up front and can get a refund if they are eligible for it.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Are there any more comments on the charges for the 2011 Workshop? - If not, these will be announced as the costs for the 2011 Workshop? - These costs are OK with everyone.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Do we want to have separate costs for Early Bird vs. larger amount for later on? - We do want to have separate Early Bird and later costs. - The early bird rate will be good up to one month before the event and then the costs will go up $100. This has now been posted on the web site.

6. Technical agenda for 2011 workshop a. Possible technical agenda session topics b. Possible session chair persons  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - For a Workshop in Singapore, it would be good to focus on Technical Agenda topics of specific interest in the region. - What are these topics? - Who will serve on a Technical Review Committee to review Abstracts and Technical Presentations? - We need to schedule and Author’s Breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday. - Plan for two screens in the Technical Presentation room. - Use clip-on microphones for Speakers. - The topics should be favorable for the Far East. - We should look at the program we had in Kuala Lumpur. - Potential topics for the 2011 Workshop are: - Duals - PPO Valves - Facilities - Automation - Field Reviews - New Technology - Valve Testing - Subsea 2011 Gas-Lift WorkshopMay 26, 2010 --- Meeting Agendas and Minutes Page 6

- The Technical Review Committee will consist of Cleon Dunham, Jim Hall, and Tom Nations.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Are there additional comments on the technical agenda for the Workshop in Singapore? - Are there any leads on actual Technical Presentations at this time? - We need to get input from Walrick van Zandvoord and Mile Dolan on this. They are new members of the Steering Committee. - Cleon Dunham will send an e-mail to people in the region. (This has been sent.)  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Walrick van Zandvoord responded that there should be a section on New Technology. - This is on the agenda. - ExxonMobil will make a technical presentation on an update on their experiences with Well Tracer and one on Gas-Lift Optimization.

7. Continuing education for 2011 workshop a. Possible continuing education topics b. Possible continuing education instructors  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - For a Workshop in Singapore, it would be good to focus on Continuing Education topics of specific interest in the region. - What are these topics? - Possibilities, for three parallel courses: - Gas-Lift Design 2 Days - Dynamic Simulation 2 Days - Dual Gas-Lift 1 Day - Gas-Lift Operations ½ Day - Gas-Lift Automation ½ Day - It is important to consider the audience. - We need a committee to review the course materials. The following people agree to be on the committee: Cleon Dunham, Jim Hall. - We need to provide a template for each Course. This will be similar (possibly the same as) the template used for the Technical Presentations. - We should establish learning objectives for each course.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Sid Smith has said that he is interested in going to Singapore and teaching Gas-Lift Design. This course needs to be updated. - Ideally, Ken Decker can come and teach Gas-Lift Valve Testing and Modeling. - Juan Carlos Mantecon is willing to come to Singapore and teach a course on Dynamic Simulation. - Cleon Dunham is willing to teach Gas-Lift Automation and can teach Gas-Lift Operations if necessary. - Shall we ask Tom Ryan if he is willing to each Dual Gas-Lift? Another option for this could be Steve Gossell of Aramco. - Are there additional comments on the Continuing Education program at this time? - We can ask Sid Smith if he would add PPO design to the Gas-Lift Design course. (Message sent to Sid.) - Ken Decker will work with Sid Smith to integrate gas-lift valve testing into the Gas-Lift Design course. - We will ask Tom Ryan if he can go. If he can’t come, can he suggest someone? (Message sent to Tom.) - We don’t have experience with Steve Gossell as a teacher. - Cleon Dunham will ask Ron Schmidt if he can teach the Gas-Lift Operations course.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Sid Smith and Ken Decker will handle the Gas-Lift Design course. - Juan Carlos Mantecon will handle the Dynamic Simulation course. - Ron Schmidt will handle the Gas-Lift Operations course. - Cleon Dunham will handle the Gas-Lift Automation course. - Tom Ryan cannot come to Singapore. We have all of the Dual Gas-Lift course material from the 2010 Workshop. Who can teach the Dual Gas-Lift course? - Cleon Dunham will handle the Dual Gas-Lift course. - The course plan has now been updated on the web site.

8. Breakout sessions for 2011 workshop a. Possible breakout session topics b. Possible breakout session facilitators  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - For a Workshop in Singapore, it would be good to focus on Breakout Session topics of specific interest in the region. - What are these topics? - The following topics: - Surveillance: methods used, recommended practices - Other topics are to be determined.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Can we agree on other topics for Breakout Sessions? - Are there people who would like lead these? - The following topics will be planned: - Gas-Lift Problems. How well does the gas-lift system really work? What issues do we have with failures, etc? What types of failures do we have? - We can poll the people in the region and see what they would like to see. - People Development.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - We will have Breakout Sessions on New Technology, Gas-Lift Surveillance and Problems, and People Development. - We will also have a “Breakout” Session as a site visit, if one is lined up. - Who will lead these sessions? - Do we need any other sessions? - Mike Johnson of ExxonMobil will coordinate the People Development breakout session. - Walrick vanZandvoord of Shell will coordinate the New Technology breakout session. - A person from Schlumberger or Raycom will coordinate the trip to their plant.

9. Workshop leadership for 2011 workshop a. Candidates for General Chair b. Roles of ASME Staff c. 10. Keynote Speaker for 2011 workshop a. Nominations for Keynote Speaker  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - It would be good to secure a Keynote Speaker from Petronas or some other major Operating Company in the region. - Are there suggestions? - We should try to get someone from Petronas. - John Martinez will pursue this with ExxonMobil in KL; they can help find contacts in Petronas. - We need to discuss relationships between KL and Singapore.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - John Martinez: Is there a nominee to be Keynote Speaker? - This is still up in the air.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - John Martinez: Is there a nominee to be Keynote Speaker? - Rodney Bane and John Martinez will pursue this with ExxonMobil and Petronas. - A possibility would be someone in Shell Technology India. Jim Hall will send information on how to contact them. Done.

11. Registration Process for 2011 workshop a. Registration process to be used b. Shall we try again to use the ASME process, or shall we revert to the ALRDC process?  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - In 2010, there were still problems with the ASME registration process. - Will this be fixed and fully operational for the 2011 Workshop? - Or should we control registration via the ALRDC registration process? - The ASME registration process will be working for this next year.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Are there any comments on the registration process for 2011 in Singapore? - Celeste Cicerone will set up the Registration process for 2011.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Are there any comments on the registration process for 2011 in Singapore? - There will be a new ASME process available in July or before. - As soon as it is ready, we will test it.

12. Exhibitors for 2011 workshop a. Number of Exhibitors b. 13. Sponsors for 2011 workshop a. Number of sponsors b. Method for obtaining sponsors c. Assigning specific meals, etc. for sponsors  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - It will be advantageous to have a significant number of Sponsors for the 2011 Workshop, in addition to Schlumberger. - Let’s brainstorm a list of potential Sponsors that we can pursue. - The following companies are potential Sponsors for the 2011 Workshop. - Schlumberger - Weatherford - Altec - ConocoPhillips - ExxonMobil - Shell Global Solutions - PTC  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Are any Sponsors other than Schlumberger lined up for the 2011 Workshop? - No other sponsors have signed up as yet.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Are any Sponsors other than Schlumberger lined up for the 2011 Workshop? - There was no new information on this topic.

14. Advertising for 2011 workshop a. Is the AMSE e-mail list process sufficient? b. Should we use the SPE mailing list again? c. Will John Martinez and Cleon Dunham (ALRDC) help with advertising? d. Will each company on the Steering Committee help with advertising? e. Who else can help?  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - It will be important to have good advertising for the 2011 Workshop. - Cleon Dunham will send to the ALRDC list (currently about 1750 members). - John Martinez will send to his e-mail list. - ASME will send to their e-mail list. - Each company will send to their internal lists. - Should we try to use an SPE mailing list? - We can use: - Celeste Cicerone. 15. Special events for 2011 workshop a. De we want to plan any special events?  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - Do we want to plan any special events for the 2011 Workshop? - If yes, what would be pertinent? - This will be discussed further in the future. - One option may be a boat tour around Singapore Harbor.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Is there more discussion of a special event associated with the 2011 Workshop? - This is a free tour. It is very interesting. We’ll ask our Singapore Hotel to arrange this.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Is there more discussion of a free boat tour associated with the 2011 Workshop? - When should it be held? - We will go with the “free” boat ride on Monday evening. - Celeste Cicerone will organize this with the hotel.

16. Side trips for 2011 workshop a. Do we want to plan any side trip(s)?  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - Do we want to plan any side trips for the 2011 Workshop? - Can we plan a trip to a Schlumberger plant or shop in Singapore? - Could we plan a trip to an Operating Company site on the following week? - The following are potential site visits while in Singapore. - Raycom plant. - Schlumberger plant, if pertinent.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Is there more discussion of a side trip associated with the 2011 Workshop? - We will ask Raycom and/or Schlumberger to sponsor this side trip.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Is there more discussion of a side trip associated with the 2011 Workshop? - Are Raycom and Schlumberger willing to host tours? - Should we choose one or the other? - This will be one of the Breakout Sessions. - Ken Decker will talk with Raycom. - Cleon Dunham will talk with Schlumberger. - Are there comments on the ALRDC or ASME web sites? - There were no comments on the web sites at this time. - Cleon Dunham will create the ALRDC web site for the 2011 Workshop now that more information is available. Done.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Are there comments on the ALRDC or ASME web sites? - The ASME web site is not updated for the gas-lift workshop.  Agenda/Minutes – May 26, 2010 - Are there comments on the ALRDC or ASME web sites? - The ALRDC web site will be updated with the information decided at this meeting. Done. - The ASME site is now up and links to the ALRDC site.

16. Meals, etc. for 2011 workshop a. Need for special meals – e.g. halal, kosher, etc.  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - We need to have meal options for Jews, Muslims, vegetarians, etc. - Meals will be discussed with the hotel when the actual venue has been chosen.  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Is there any discussion of planning for meals at this time? - There is not action on this at this time.

17. Steering Committee for 2011 workshop a. Any new members b. Any retirees  Agenda/Minutes – Feb. 4, Mar. 30, 2010 - Can we obtain some Steering Committee members from the Far East for this Workhsop? - The following people should be considered for the Steering Committee for the 2011 Workshop. - Jim Hall will contact the Shell people and John Martinez will contact the ExxonMobil person to see if they are willing to serve. - Marianna Jamil – Shell Brunei - Heii, Lukuoh – Shell Malaysia - Mike Dolan – Shell Global Solutions, KL - Sies Hussain - ExxonMobil  Agenda/Minutes – April 28, 2010 - Jim Hall, John Martinez: Have any of these people agreed to be on the Steering Committee for the Singapore Workshop? - Is yes, we need their contact information. - Walrick van Zandvoord and Mike Dolan have been added to the Steering Committee. - Cleon Dunham will check with Marianna Jamil. The Norris Conference Center is the most likely.
