We Are Looking for an English Assistant Teacher, Who Can Help Us to Improve Students Speaking

Hello! We are looking for an English assistant teacher, who can help us to improve students speaking skills. We need a teacher or a future teacher who is looking for a training teaching experience in our big school, named “Istituto Comprensivo Perugia 3” We teach English from 6 to 14 year old children and we also carry out CLIL projects in English language. DURATION: the volunteer experience can last three months or longer if the candidate is interested in extending the period. COMPENSATION: as we are a public school, we cannot offer any economical compensation, but we could help our language assistant find a free accommodation and some paid work. OUR SCHOOL: IC Perugia 3 includes both two primary schools and San Paolo Secondary school currently attended by about 650 pupils divided between two premises in the old historic center of Perugia. The age range of our school is from 11 to 14 years. A large part of the pupils comes from the suburbs of Perugia as “San Paolo School” is considered an excellent school in preparing students for high school (85 % of pupils go on to selective high schools like “ Liceo Scientifico” and “ Liceo Classico” when they leave, compared with a national average of 50%). The students come from a “relatively wealthy” social class: families are quite involved and have very high expectations for their children’s achievements. The three year Educational Policy (“PTOF”) of S. Paolo School focuses on : - Inclusive Education with projects and activities aimed at integrating pupils in difficulty or with special educational needs; - Education for Active Citizenship, with actions of solidarity and respect for the law; - Linguistic and Scientific Education through activities aimed at giving students a solid ground knowledge in these fields. San Paolo School has an internal self-assessment quality system, carried out by a special teachers’committee assessing the results of the Invalsi tests (Tests about students’skills in Maths Italian and English from the current year, delivered, on national scale, by The Italian Ministry of Education) to identify critical aspects in the Schools educational program, in order to improve students’ and teachers’performance.
