All owners, Youth and Non Pros nominated for year end awards must be WMAA members in good standing. 2. A completed nomination form and the correct nomination fee must be sent to the nomination keeper. Points will count only after the nomination is received by WMAA. A work order on weanlings will be accepted, if registration has not been applied for, a foal can be nominated by providing the nomination keeper with the completed application and all fees to be mailed. 3. WMAA requires that regional clubs hosting shows pointed by WMAA send a list of class placings, with the number of horses in each class, to the point keeper within two weeks of the show date. 4. WMAA will point any ApHC approved show hosted by the following New England regional clubs: WMAA, CAA, GMApHC, GSAA and MeApHC, provided there is no conflict with a WMAA regional show. Any ApHC approved show hosted by a regional club other than those listed previously requires a special vote by the Board of Directors in order to be pointed by WMAA.. 5. In order to qualify for year end awards in a respective class, you must place between first and sixth place under a minimum of eight (8) judges at the approved regional shows listed above. In addition, you must show at the Yankee Color Classic or volunteer at one of WMAA’s events listed on the calendar at the beginning of each newsletter. If you are unable to show at the YCC or to volunteer, then you will have the option to “buyout” your obligation to WMAA which is $50. The money collected through buyouts will help to offset the costs of the YCC. Points earned by a WMAA member at the Yankee Color Classic regional show will be doubled towards year end awards. 6. If a nominated horse is sold, any WMAA points earned in open halter or performance classes go with the horse, provided the new owners are members or join when the horse is purchased. It will not be the responsibility of WMAA or the point keeper to inform the new owners of this requirement. The seller and/or buyer are required to inform the point keeper of the sale of a nominated horse. The seller will receive any year end awards earned in open halter or performance classes prior to the sale if the new owner is aware of the WMAA Regional Circuit rules and does not join the club. 7. Youth and Non Pro members earn points towards year end awards on any horse he/she is nominated with; however, in classes where an exhibitor may show more than one horse, points will accrue separately on a horse/rider combination. Those classes are trail, western riding, reining, keyhole, figure 8 stakes, working hunter, hunter in hand, and jumping. 8. Current point standings will be printed in the newsletter and posted on the club website. 9. Champion and Reserve year end recognition will be given in each class pointed by the club. The club points any class which is offered at the regional show, The Yankee Color Classic. In the case of a tie for Champion there will be no Reserve. There will also be year end recognition for High Point Performance Horse, Youth, Non Pro, and Walk Trot Divisions. Only qualifying points will be used to determine Divisional High Points. 10. The cut-off date for ANY discrepancies of point standings for year end awards will be 15 days after the final point standings are printed.
