Dear Parents,

Welcome to Cypress Elementary!

We look forward to getting to know you and your child this year. Briefly, let me share a little information about Cypress Elementary.

This year, Cypress (Early Childhood through fifth grades) anticipates an enrollment of approximately 750+ students. We have a very active PTA and volunteer program. We invite you to become an active part of both programs.

School hours are 7:45-2:45. The tardy bell rings at 7:45 and ail students are to be in class and ready to start the day at that time. The children may enter the building to go to their classroom or eat breakfast at 7:25. Supervision of students begins at 7:25.

Our cafeteria serves breakfast each morning 7:25-7:45. Prices for breakfast and lunch will be listed in the Hill Country News Education Express this summer. Additional information is also listed on the district website at www.leanderisd.org.

The mascot for Cypress is the Cheetah and the colors are black and gold. Spirit Days are scheduled throughout the year. Students and staff have the opportunity to show school spirit by dressing accordingly. Some spirit days include Polar Express Day, hat day, favorite T-shirt day, jogging suit day, vacation t-shirt day, etc.

On Wednesday, take-home folders are sent home. By the first Wednesday of the month, the monthly school newsletter. Cheetah Chatter, can be found on line at the Cypress website. Information from the PTA or other organizations can also be found at the website (cypress.leanderisd.org). Just a reminder to let us know when your email address changes so that we can update our records.
