UniSA Executive Golden Key Meeting

Lauren: Honouree member event – 30th July 2009, 7pm, Flinders Uni Gallery (under State Library)

 Need to establish an organizational team  Our job to find prize to raffle o Art work? o Wine donations? – Prerna has winery contacts – will enquire o Hilton hotel package or Celebrity cooking lesson – Jennifer has contacts – will enquire o Generally need members to scout contacts for wine to raffle etc. o Even if donations not used/not suitable for this event, can be stored for later occasions  Catering – need to converse and collaborate with Adelaide Uni and Flinders o Technically Adelaide Uni’s responsibility to organise catering – need to check with them – Jennifer will organise/collaborate with the Adelaide and Flinders to check what’s happening.  Adelaide and Flinders wanted to charge guests (us and honouree members) a ticket/admission fee of $20 or so o We are against this, at least for us and our guests - Instead we are going to donate money to cover the costs for our chapter  Invites – sending both email and paper invites o Lauren to organise email invites o Prerna volunteered to write paper invites using her calligraphy skills o Around 20 – 25 (+/-10) honouree members (this year’s and previous)/invites

Azid: Chapter funding

 GK HQ want some info/more transparency regarding our chapter’s bank account o HQ want copy of our chapter’s bank statement o Azid needs to fill in and send back an Excel file back to HQ  Reminder that Azid needs all receipts for all reimbursement of member’s out of pocket expenses incurred in the organisation of GK events etc.  Sonia and Julia will receive their cheques for reimbursement of previous Asia/Pacific conference costs when new signatories’ procedures are finalised.  Lauren and Erin will be the two new signatories

Lauren: Fundraising

 Need community awareness event  Also need social event  Leukemia foundation, breast cancer foundation, among other suggestions for charitable causes to support  Anastasi to arrange fundraising boxes from Cadbury by next meeting o To contact Erin for Cadbury contact details o Order minimum number of boxes from Cadbury (10-12) o Cadbury send invoice, give to Azid, and he will arrange cheque o Each member to buy own boxes to sell - Buy at 60c per bar, sell for $1.20

 Education officer – arranging tutoring program at Magill o Looking to use Division of Business program as template . First of all need to contact Vanessa Mathews and Sophie Relf o Lauren suggests pilot study with just one school o Prerna waiting on list of GK members to further planning

Lauren:

 Putting together latest instalment of UniSA GK newsletter – coming soon  Tri-Uni Quiz night o September 3rd 2009 o Brookman Hall, City East Campus o Room booked 5pm to 10pm (event run 7pm to 9.30pm) o Members to organise tables of 8 – 12 people – friends and family o Discounted tickets for GK members o Proceeds going to Ian Thorpe Foundation for Youth - Info about on GK UniSA website o Need sponsors for prizes - Julia will write up a sponsor list o Prerna interested in organising questions for quiz o Can sell Softdrinks o Can provide alcohol but not sell - 2 bottles of wine per table suggested
