POST TITLE: TV Programmes Manager
SALARY BAND: Band 09-10
ALLOWANCE: Scheme of Service
RESPONSIBLE TO: Deputy Chief Executive Officer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fully responsible for the day to day management of Television Programmes department including TV Productions, Scheduling, Content and on air- presentation of TV Channel. Ensure that all local content are of high professional quality and in line with the policy directions. Act as Producer/Director as and when necessary. Managing productions including, research, budget, scripts, produce, direct, present, edit programmes to the highest professional standards. Guide, instruct and assist Producers/Directors in all aspects of their work. Assist Management in training and staff development. Devise ways of promoting SBC both on-air and off-air. Liaise with and assist the Head of Programming in improving and sustaining the quality of television presentation, branding and continuity. Liaise with Management, in particular with the Chief Editor (News), the Chief Engineer, Financial Controller, the Marketing Manager, Radio Programmes Manager and Human Resources & Administration Manager to ensure co- ordination in achieving corporate goals and maintaining a healthy and vibrant team spirit. Manage the budget allocated to the Section in close collaboration with the Financial Controller. Participate in the Management and other in-house committees and represent the SBC on external committees when mandated to do so. Any relevant duties that may be assigned by the Deputy and Chief Executive Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1 Degree in Journalism and Broadcast Management plus 5-7 years experience as Producer/Principal Editor.
