Job Description:

Skokie Country Club is looking for a Men's Grill Supervisor. We are seeking an individual with a very strong commitment to service, who has had formal training in the service industry. This individual will lead a team of several employees and be expected to maintain a very high level of service standards. We are looking for someone who will bring energy, new ideas and a positive, motivating attitude to the position. The ideal candidate will be proven in this type of role and have a demonstrated ability to implement the Club's vision. The Men’s Grill Supervisor will report directly to the Assistant General Manager.

Scope of Responsibility:

Knows the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures including; some familiarity of other departments within the club. The Men’s Grill Supervisor should also sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the various departments of the club.

Duties: Job Summary (Essential Functions):

 Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of Men’s Grill and surrounding areas

 Ensure the timeliness of food and beverage services in the Men's Grill

 Supervise, train and motivate Grill Staff and Bartenders.

 Manage within budgetary restraints.

 Develop and implement programs to increase the level of service and maximize member satisfaction along with revenues through repeat business

 Actively manage food and beverage service for members and guests in the Men’s Grill

 Maintain order and cleanliness and ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently attained

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach

 Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds

 Continuous repetitive motions

 Work in hot, humid and noisy environment

Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Requirements:  High school diploma or GED

 A four-year college degree in Hospitality preferred

 Extremely strong communication skills using spoken and written words

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and previous experience with POS

 experience in a private club setting strongly preferred

 Basic knowledge of golf operations and golf course etiquette

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

 Lead by example

 Responsible for management of the dining room and bar service in the men's lounge

 Excellent organizational and follow-through skills

 Maintains an extremely high level of member contact throughout service hours and ensures that staff does the same

 Works hand in hand with the golf pro shop operation from a communication and service aspect, to maximize the opportunity for the seamless continuity of service between the two departments

 Knowledge of, and ability to perform, required role during emergency situations

 Ability to demonstrate proper wine and beverage service

Licenses and Special Permits:

 Alcoholic Beverage Certification

 Food Safety Certification

 AED/CPR Certification – Preferred
