END OF YEAR SCHEDULE FOR CLASS OF 2017
The following information regards the end-of-year schedule for the Class of 2017. Tuesday, May 30th - Senior Class Trip to Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH.
Wednesday, May 31st There will be a brief assembly at 9:00 AM to approximately 11:00 AM regarding information on Commencement. Practice in the gym will follow. This meeting is mandatory since caps; gowns and tickets will be distributed. Students who owe money for books, cafeteria, chrome books, gym locks, parking passes, etc. will not get their caps, gowns, tickets or diploma until they have fulfilled these obligations. Each student will receive five tickets for Graduation. Graduation tickets are needed ONLY for auditorium seating, when necessary due to weather. If you need additional tickets, please see Mrs. Montgomery, once we have received all requests we will divide up the tickets among the students who requested them, if you don’t need all your tickets please return the ones you won’t be using so that they can be distributed to help fill the requests from other students.
Thursday, June 1st - Awards Assembly. Seniors please report by 8:30 AM. Caps and gowns will be worn. Time 8:30 to approximately 11:00 AM. Please make sure that your gown has been pressed. NHS Students are reminded to bring their honor sashes.
Baccalaureate - 7:00 PM at Central High School. Students please report by 6:30 PM to the gym. Class picture will be taken immediately following the program. The Baccalaureate is sponsored by the ministerium and attendance is voluntary.
Friday, June 2nd - Commencement practice at the Roaring Spring Athletic field at 8:30 AM to approximately 10:30 AM, if it is raining the practice will be held at Central High School.
Commencement – The program will begin at 7:00 PM at the football field. If there is concern regarding the weather, the Commencement will be moved to the auditorium. The decision will be made by 1:00 PM and will be announced on WFGY (98.1) and WALY (103.9). Students need to be at the football field or the school by 6:00 PM since final preparations need to be made. Boys must wear dress shoes, a dress shirt (white preferred), and dress pants. NO tennis shoes or blue jeans. Girls should wear a dress, skirt or skort but NO slacks. Any violation of school rules, including dress code, by any student could eliminate them from the Baccalaureate or Commencement program.
Please pick up your diploma at the Roaring Spring Athletic Field following the Commencement program. If Commencement is held at CHS please pick up your diploma outside of the office. We will be at the field or CHS until 9:30 PM.
