[ADVISORS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF MAST] May 12, 2010 Advisors/Committee Chairs must be chosen from the CSTL faculty: Dr. Barbara Austin, Dr. Jennifer Claesgens, or Dr. Julie Gess-Newsome. Advisors/committee chairs monitor your program progress, approve your program of study, and help you select committee members.

Content area faculty, listed in the table below, help MAST students select a program of study that provides an appropriate science content preparation based on prior science preparation and selected program. Up through the first 9 hours of study, the MAST program manager, Kenric Kesler, may act as the initial advisor.

Committee Members serve to approve the completion of the portfolio or thesis and oral exam. They should represent content areas or specializations within your program of study. Committee members have a Master’s or Doctoral degree and must be approved by the committee chair. This list is illustrative and non-exhaustive.
