<p> [ADVISORS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF MAST] May 12, 2010 Advisors/Committee Chairs must be chosen from the CSTL faculty: Dr. Barbara Austin, Dr. Jennifer Claesgens, or Dr. Julie Gess-Newsome. Advisors/committee chairs monitor your program progress, approve your program of study, and help you select committee members. </p><p>Content area faculty, listed in the table below, help MAST students select a program of study that provides an appropriate science content preparation based on prior science preparation and selected program. Up through the first 9 hours of study, the MAST program manager, Kenric Kesler, may act as the initial advisor. </p><p>Committee Members serve to approve the completion of the portfolio or thesis and oral exam. They should represent content areas or specializations within your program of study. Committee members have a Master’s or Doctoral degree and must be approved by the committee chair.
