Tips for holding a successful PLC meeting:
1. Follow an Agenda
*Hand out the agenda before the meeting so everyone is prepared *Wording in the agenda should state the specific goal: “Plan November 1st meeting” *Begin and end the meeting on time.
2. Come to the meeting with ideas and suggestions ready *Think about the goals and how to meet them prior to the meeting
3. Stay focused on the immediate task *SPL must keep the group on target; individuals must avoid sidetracking the group *Keep the meeting brisk, with short remarks and quick comments
4. Develop an “Action Items” list as each goal is discussed
*This is a list of who is responsible for each particular task *Review this list at the end of the meeting
5. Print and distribute the meeting minutes as soon as possible *Distribute to all members, whether they attended the meeting or not
