American Welfare Projects (AWP) Request for Funds
The American Forces’ Spouses’ Club (AFSC) is dedicated to assisting various organizations by offering financial support towards special projects, which benefit the service members, DOD civilians and their families who reside in the community. These funds are generated by various committees from AFSC including Ways & Means. Additional funds are from the closure of the Chosun Gift Shop. Please see the AWP SOP for more details on the following regulations prior to submission. 1. Any organization serving the USFK population may request assistance from the AFSC, provided that funds will benefit SOFA status personnel. 2. All requests must be submitted by the 15th of the month in which it is to be presented to the AWP Committee. All requests require approval by both the AWP Committee and the AFSC General Board. The ap- proval process averages 30-45 days to complete. 3. All funds need to be utilized within 60 days and receipts must be submitted no later than 30 days after funds are expended. Failure to adhere to the rules regarding utilization and reporting may result in the requester and/or organization to be banned from requesting funds for a minimum of one year. 4. AFSC does not reimburse for items already purchased before request approval. 5. If the request is approved your POC will be contacted following the next AFSC Board Meeting. 6. An additional memorandum is required for schools, units, FRGs, and Spouses’ Groups submit- ting requests. A sample memorandum is available at www.afscyongsan.org.
