AMC Radiology Job Description

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Supervised by: Radiologic and Staff Physicians

Responsible to: Department Supervisor

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Current ARRT registry. North Dakota State Licensure.

2. Use of technologies. People skills. Dependability. Maintain a safe and effective environment.

3. General radiography skills. CT and Mammography preferred but will train.

HOURS: Day time hours 5 days per week. Hours vary for rotating call: nights, weekends, and holiday.

General Duties:

1. Responsible for the completion of diagnostic imaging exams requested by providers utilizing proper positioning, exam guidelines, exam technique and appropriate patient care to produce optimal quality diagnostic images. Maintain BLS-CPR training.

2. Follow radiation safety guidelines using proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process to protect patients and employees.

3. Provide appropriate patient care and education before during and after the procedure.

4. Arrange for exams provided by mobile services as requested by healthcare providers.

5. Completion of all appropriate paper work before and after exams. Maintain appropriate records.

6. Responsible for all QC & QA and equipment maintenance in the department.

7. A commitment to find ways to provide the highest quality of care possible to our community.

8. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection – control protocols.

9. Willingness to help wherever needed. Desire to learn new modalities and continually improve skills.

10. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures. Rules and regulations.

Job Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of required diagnostic imaging procedures. Familiar with equipment used: R/F general radiology (CR), CT, digital mammography and computers.

2. Secretarial and organization duties. Physical Demands:

1. Putting the care of the patient first.

2. Able to assist patients with all types of conditions as well as helping co-workers.

Working Conditions:

Staff is small, “work together” with occasional overlap to aid other departments. A Radiology Group is on staff and interpret all our procedures as well as supervising the department. The radiology equipment is up to date, upgrades done as required. The hospital is a well-kept older facility with an attached skilled nursing facility.
