Workcamp 2014 Brief Introduction of SV
Sunshine Volunteering Head Group (SV) is a voluntary service organization founded in 2001 in Beijing University of Technology. SV has been holding the principle of “Contribution, Friendship,
Mutual Assistance, and Progress” and doing all voluntary services with the slogan “Every streak of sunshine contains a share of our hearts”.
Inwardly, SV aims to create a better place for people to live their better life.
Outwardly, SV strives for showing the world a real China as well as illustrate China a real World.
SV now has 16772 registered volunteers with 147 of them working in the office.
Voluntary Service Activities of SV
SV has organized more than 500 activities since it was found in
2001, including culture, assisting education, helping the disabled, caring for the elderly, supporting the poor, environmental protection, community services and large events services.
Helping the disabled children.
It is one of SV long-term voluntary service activities.
Those disabled children are in a special school and lack sufficient care and love.
Field maintenance and support services. SV offers volunteers opportunities to serve for forums, conferences, and some athletic contests in which they are interested.
Rousing public awareness on environmental protection. SV organizes environmental protection activities every year, including propaganda campaign and actual activities.
Assisting education and support the poor. SV help primary schools carry out outdoor classes every Wednesday afternoon.
SV volunteers show universities to the poor students to encourage them to finish college.
Tourist service at scenic spots.
This is a regular activity during the tourist season, and it is usually in the summer.
Blood drives activity.
SV volunteers not only donate blood themselves but service for those who donate blood to advocate blood donations.

Work: There are 4 main projects included in the workcamp.
The summer camp of assisting education in the primary school for migrant workers’
children.
Lao Juntang Youth Club activities. Volunteers will hold a series
of cultural
communication activities
there with local
residents,including
experiencing 3D printer,
helping weed the ground,
playing football and ping
pang with local teenagers,
preparing for the community party and making traditional
Chinese food.
The communication and
training of Chinese
culture, including paper-
cut, Chinese calligraphy,
traditional Chinese
painting, and so on. Some other activities related to voluntary service (not tiring)
Volunteering hours: Work 25-30 hours a week (Monday to Friday)
Accommodation:
Beijing University of Technology(BJUT) students’ center (public
bathroom and shower, use bunk bed)
Please bring your sleeping bag
Food: Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) student cafeteria
Requirements: In good health
Insurance: Insurance is provided during the camping period(Illness,
accident, and third party liability insurance)

splendid museums and monuments in Beijing, such as the Great
Wall and the Forbidden City, as well as some modern
commercial districts like Sanlitun, and so on.
Volunteers will communicate with the children of migrant
workers.
Series of Chinese learning course are provided.
Volunteers will have a chance to discover traditional Chinese
cuisines and its production with native Beijiingers.
