<p>Sunshine Volunteering Head Group SV</p><p>Since 2001</p><p>Workcamp 2014 Brief Introduction of SV</p><p>Sunshine Volunteering Head Group (SV) is a voluntary service organization founded in 2001 in Beijing University of Technology. SV has been holding the principle of “Contribution, Friendship, </p><p>Mutual Assistance, and Progress” and doing all voluntary services with the slogan “Every streak of sunshine contains a share of our hearts”.</p><p>Inwardly, SV aims to create a better place for people to live their better life.</p><p>Outwardly, SV strives for showing the world a real China as well as illustrate China a real World.</p><p>SV now has 16772 registered volunteers with 147 of them working in the office.</p><p>Voluntary Service Activities of SV</p><p>SV has organized more than 500 activities since it was found in </p><p>2001, including culture, assisting education, helping the disabled, caring for the elderly, supporting the poor, environmental protection, community services and large events services.</p><p>Helping the disabled children.</p><p>It is one of SV long-term voluntary service activities.</p><p>Those disabled children are in a special school and lack sufficient care and love. </p><p>Field maintenance and support services. SV offers volunteers opportunities to serve for forums, conferences, and some athletic contests in which they are interested.</p><p>Rousing public awareness on environmental protection. SV organizes environmental protection activities every year, including propaganda campaign and actual activities.</p><p>Assisting education and support the poor. SV help primary schools carry out outdoor classes every Wednesday afternoon.</p><p>SV volunteers show universities to the poor students to encourage them to finish college. </p><p>Tourist service at scenic spots.</p><p>This is a regular activity during the tourist season, and it is usually in the summer.</p><p>Blood drives activity.</p><p>SV volunteers not only donate blood themselves but service for those who donate blood to advocate blood donations. </p><p>Workcamp Program 2014 SV- 01 Beijing</p><p>28 June-12 July</p><p>Vols: 10</p><p>Age: 18-26</p><p>Language:</p><p>English</p><p>SOCI</p><p>Project: Host organization is SV, and local communities will join to give support.</p><p>Work: There are 4 main projects included in the workcamp.</p><p> The summer camp of assisting education in the primary school for migrant workers’ </p><p> children. </p><p> Lao Juntang Youth Club activities. Volunteers will hold a series </p><p> of cultural</p><p> communication activities</p><p> there with local </p><p> residents,including</p><p> experiencing 3D printer,</p><p> helping weed the ground,</p><p> playing football and ping</p><p> pang with local teenagers,</p><p> preparing for the community party and making traditional </p><p>Chinese food.</p><p> The communication and</p><p> training of Chinese</p><p> culture, including paper-</p><p> cut, Chinese calligraphy,</p><p> traditional Chinese</p><p> painting, and so on.
