Minutes from Jan. 12, 2015 WTYF&C Exec meeting (Cobb’s Mill)

Treasure’s Report: Finances are in good shape. Ending the 2015 season with ~ $22,000 after outstanding lights and gym usage bills are paid. End of year banquet we broke even on ticket sales. The autographed Patriot football raffle raised $660. The board thanked Mark Keeney for securing the football to be used as a raffle item.

Cheer Report: Cheer 6-8 grade had a great season, didn’t make it to Nationals but stepped up to a higher level and improved the team’s skills. For the fall: 6-8 comp team still need to compete. Cheer 3-5 grade needs something more than sideline cheer. It was suggested that 3-5 cheer should compete in locals and state in the fall. 1-2 grade cheer teams will no longer do sideline cheer at the flag games. The setup for flag games is not conducive to having a sideline cheer team. For the fall it is best for the girls to attend home HS football games and participate in the “Trojan Tunnel” and do 1- 2 cheers with the HS cheerleaders. They would have a Friday practice before the games. Need to consider raising fees in fall for cheer so that paid coaches can be hired for 3-5 grade cheer and to buy new mats.

Tackle Report: All equipment was returned except for 2 players. All equipment has been sent to be reconditioned. Jim Tonelli will need to be notified that we will want equipment by April. All coaches have committed to this fall. Teams at this point will be 4-5th, 6th and 7th. Mark is working on March clinic with Coach Pace.

Flag Report: Steve commended Jim Smith for spearheading the flag program this season. Have lots of guys ready to coach but taking a little longer to find volunteers to take a more active role on the board There is need for more opportunities to “coach” the coaches. Need to get the coaches more in sync. HS refs worked out well this season, great idea to continue again in fall
