“God Our Lover” Wayne McLaughlin September 2, 2018 Song of Songs 1 (selected verses); 2.8-13 First Reading Song of Songs 1 – selected verses (Contemporary English Version) She Speaks: Kiss me tenderly! Your love is better than wine, and you smell so sweet. All the young women adore you; the very mention of your name is like spreading perfume. My darling, I love you! My king, while you were on your couch, my love was a magic charm. My darling, you are perfume between my breasts; you are flower blossoms from the gardens of an oasis. He Speaks: My darling, you are lovely, so very lovely— your eyes are those of a dove. 1 Second Reading: Song of Songs 2.8-13 (Contemporary English Version) She Speaks: I hear the voice of the one I love, as he comes leaping over mountains and hills like a deer or a gazelle. Now he stands outside our wall, looking through the window and speaking to me. He Speaks: My darling, I love you! Let’s go away together. Winter is past, the rain has stopped; flowers cover the earth, it’s time to sing. The cooing of doves is heard in our land. Fig trees are bearing fruit, while blossoms on grapevines fill the air with perfume. My darling, I love you! Let’s go away together. SERMON TEXT: A Fragrant Book The Song of Songs is eight chapters of erotic poetry. It’s about a man and a woman who are lovers. They describe each other’s body, using Middle Eastern imagery that doesn’t sound all that erotic to our Western ears. -

Co/Co/Ss Bizarre Adventures
Jumpable 0.4.1 /co/co/’s Bizarre Adventures Welcome to Earth! Not your Earth, obviously, but one that at first glance looks about the sa… actually, that’s a lie. All sorts of weirdness is going on here, like cowardly dogs smarter than the average person, talking animals ranging from odd hybrids to almost human, and even a certain Man of Steel. But peel your eyes real good, and another layer of crazy shows up. Madmen wearing the same maledicted malicious [MELODIC] mask appearing every few hundred years to raise hell, a tribe of ancient warriors of dubious morality with mystic power thrumming in their [CELS] right about to wake up from their slumber, and even demonic conspiracies threatening to take over entire countries! ‘Course, each one bears elaboration, so I’m gonna make this the usual Location (well, Era) choice too. Roll 1d8 or pick for 0 CP, it’s all cool here. +1000 CP to start with, in case you’ve forgotten the rules already. 1. The first story of this world is that of Courage, a cowardly dog who lives in the middle of Nowhere with his owners, Muriel and Eustace Bagge. One day, the mask Eustace normally uses to spook the dog is broken by his wife, resulting in him stealing a new one from a travelling gypsy. But that [MASK] holds a dark power within, and CoCo is forced to tame his fear of ghosts and ghouls in order to stop his old master, now corrupted by the cursed artifact. 2. The second story of this world is that of a stylish man known as Johnny Bravo, who crash lands in Central America right as the enterprising Hank Hill and his guide, Nigel Thornberry, come in contact with an ancient race of beings known as the Pillarmen. -

Master Thesis the PERCEPTION of OPINION LEADERSHIP FOR
Master Thesis THE PERCEPTION OF OPINION LEADERSHIP FOR POLITICAL AND CIVIC PARTICIPATION AMONG DANCE MUSIC ARTISTS Emilija Kučytė Political communication Student identification number: 10841830 Thesis supervisor: Dr. M.E. Wojcieszak Word count: 1443 2 MUSICIANS AS OPINION LEADERS STIMULATING POLITICAL PARTICIPATION Abstract This research combines the fields of entertainment, politics and media. The patterns of political participation are especially changing among youth. In this context popular artists, acting as opinion leaders, have the forum to shape the public opinion and instigate political behavior. Thus by conducting qualitative interviews with dance music artists, this thesis provides an insight on their motives to act as opinion leaders, who stimulate civic participation among their fans. It has showed that the motives to instigate political engagement depend on the interplay between the views towards the freedom of speech, hierarchy and representation in democracy; the level of interpretation of an artist as a public versus private person and the level of perceived influence of artists. The motivation was moderated by the medium and the level of issue controversy. Keywords: Political participation, media, music, entertainment, civic engagement, opinion leadership 3 MUSICIANS AS OPINION LEADERS STIMULATING POLITICAL PARTICIPATION Introduction “I am a D.J., I am what I say[..] I've got believers I've got believers in me” - David Bowie. In this song the late David Bowie talks about the influence of a DJ, a face of now billion dollar growing industry and the genre most popular among the millennial generation. Among other forms of entertainment, music has always had an important role in influencing the political landscape, mobilizing nations or being a form of protest, while becoming “the voice of the generation” (Van Zoonen, 2005). -
