End of year Drinks December 2016: Reflection on more than 20 years of ASPG-Q. ASPG-Q members and friends celebrated the end of the year in the Queensland Parliament’s new function area with sweeping views of the Brisbane River and the city. Professor Roger Scott and Dr Paul Reynolds, as well as members of the ASPG executive committee reflected on the establishment of ASPG-Q and the nature and evolution of political science and parliamentary practice in Queensland. 2. Discussion Forum 27 February 2017: Political Trust in decline in Queensland. Guest speaker Professor Ian McAllister (ANU) presented his latest findings from his Australian Electoral Study, followed by a discussion from a panel of experts: Dr David Solomon AM (former Queensland Integrity Commissioner), Dr Tracey Arklay (Griffith Uni) and Mr Josh Robertson (The Guardian online newspaper). 3. Research presentation 22 May 2017: Collection management and use of political ephemera in Queensland. ASPG-Q members and friends heard from Dr Lorann Downer who shared her research as Adjunct Research Fellow at the State Library of Queensland on the significance and value of political campaign material, its historical meaning and significance. Corporate membership votes at AGM The Chapter does not have any corporate membership arrangements or related voting entitlements or benefits. The Chapter’s Constitutions specifies that membership shall be open to any person with a direct and continuing interest in Parliament and parliamentary affairs. All members in attendance at the annual general meeting may exercise an equal vote. Finance The Chapter is due to remit $1,755 membership fees to the Group for the financial year and received $2,527.47 revenue. During 2016-17, the chapter spent $1,113.03 on functions and events.
