There’s a frequent bus running from the airport to Piazza San Babila (city centre). You must buy your tickets from the machine before boarding, it’s not possible to buy them on the bus! A one-way ticket is a standard ticket (1.50€) for any public transport in the city, and is valid for use up to 90 minutes, meaning that you can use it on the Metro immediately after. The bus stop can be found directly outside the airport exit doors. There are two buses: 73 and 73X (the express line which makes only two stops and runs only from Monday to Friday). Once you have arrive in the city centre, you’ll be able to access the Metro network (joining the red line, M1, San Bablia stop) to get to your location or grab a taxi from the Piazza. Transfer by Air Bus: You can also take the Air Bus, which is a service from Linate to Central Station. This service costs 5€ and you can buy tickets on the bus. Transfer by Taxi: A taxi to the city centre will cost on average 15-20 euros. A taxi rank can easily be found outside the airport doors. From MALPENSA Airport to the City Centre Transfer by Train: The Malpensa express train service runs directly from Terminal 1 to Piazza Cadorna (red metro line 1, Cadorna stop) or to Central Station (Centrale). The train station is located in Terminal 1 on level -1. If you land in Terminal 2, there is a free shuttle bus connecting Terminal 1 with Terminal 2 every 20 minutes 24 hours a day. You can check the timetable here. Transfer by Bus: There are several companies providing buses on the route Malpensa to Milan centre. There is no significant difference between the bus companies, so it doesn't matter which bus you use, just buy a ticket for the next departure at the stand. You can directly buy your ticket (5-10 euros, in cash only) to the seller standing in front of the bus door. The journey time between Malpensa and Milano Centrale FS is about 50 minutes. Transfer by Taxi: Taxis are located in front of the exits in both Terminals 1 and 2. Journey time to central Milan is around 50 minutes. The fixed fare is €90 to Milan city centre. Taxis licensed by the City of Milan are white. If you take a taxi, make sure that it has a windscreen sticker displaying: "Taxi autorizzato per il servizio aeroportuale lombardo". This means that its meter is adjusted for the airport route and you pay a fair calculate for that route that is displayed on the meter in the taxi. A taxi without the sticker may charge a different fare. Policy Learning Platform What to do if you miss your flight? According to EU legislation, all passengers departing from/arriving in an EU country (or Iceland, Norway, Switzerland) with a carrier licensed in the EU are entitled to a specific set of rights upon conditions. • If your flight is cancelled, the airline must give you the choice between reimbursement or rerouting (you have the right to assistance while waiting). You may also be entitled to additional compensation (€125-€600) under some conditions. • For long delays, you may be entitled to assistance and to compensation, depending on the delay length and flight distance. • If you are denied boarding, you also have the choice between reimbursement or rerouting. • Bocconi University Italy
2014-2015 University Attended – Bocconi University, Italy Feedback 1 INDUCTION/ORIENTATION PROGRAMME Orientation meeting for a couple of hours which was very informative, we received a USB with further information. There was also a desk open for international students to come and ask questions which was open all day for the first 2 weeks. In general the induction was very helpful. ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE Quality of teaching was very good most classes were interactive and engaged the class well. Different from Manchester in that there were no seminars: all classes were lectures between 20-60 people which I preferred. Attending and non-attending option: I would suggest any students to do attending as it makes it much easier. E- learning platform was easy to use and had most of the materials needed. Most courses were well run and interesting. Sometimes information was a bit vague on exams for example. you weren't always given sample questions or told how long the exam was. Also there was no exact date on exam results you just received them at random which gave you little time to prepare if you needed to repeat it. MBS INTERNATIONAL ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT TEAM Always responded quickly to any queries I had and dealt with any issues fairly quickly. I was given all the information I needed for my year abroad. MBS SECOND YEAR MEETINGS Helpful in explaining the exchange and allocation of places process. All parts of the application process were clearly defined making it easier. There was sufficient information on each host university and destination. HOST INTERNATIONAL OFFICE They were generally very helpful but didn’t really provide any support with housing which proved very difficult to find at a reasonable price.

  • 29 – Eurocruise – Milan
29 – Eurocruise – Milan In the previous segment I should have mentioned that this date, May 1, May Day, would be my last full day in Europe and would mark the end of my journey. \ I would be flying back to the U. S. the following morning. So my trip on the 10:57 from Bergamo to Milan was my penultimate train ride. Upon arrival at Milan Centrale at 11:50 I found a locker quickly and reached the adjacent trolley stop forthwith. I did not stop to admire the iconic stub-end railway terminal, constructed in 1931 during the fascist Mussolini era, as I have done that in the past and could do it again later. The weather had turned gloomy again, but that did not stop me from buying a day ticket and using it for a number of hours. It would stay dismal, but with only an occasional drizzle, but also with the sun peeking through the clouds briefly from time to time. Milan is Italy’s second largest city, with a population of 1.5 million (3 million in metropolitan area). Despite the construction of a 4-line heavy Metro system (soon to be 5), it still retains the status of being one of the favorite cities of trolley enthusiasts world wide, especially Americans. This is probably because it still operates a remarkable number of Peter Witt streetcars from the late 1920s over a network of 18 routes that stretches for almost 80 miles (see http://www.urbanrail.net/eu/it/mil/tram/milano-tram.htm). In fact 5 of Milan’s tram lines are still exclusively served by the iconic Peter Witts.
