TO BRAZIL The program, launched on May 11, will allocate R$ 400 million in funds to combat the pandemic in Brazil. Of this total, R$ 320 million were earmarked to meet the most urgent needs of the localities mapped involving 18 state governments, the FGD (Federal District) and 197 Brazilian municipalities benefiting more than 63 million people. Under the coordination of Joanita Maestri Karoleski, former CEO of Seara, 30 team members are exclusively dedicated to the program. In addition to the financial resources, JBS has also contributed with its asset structure and professionals in the Supplies, Logistics, Legal, Compliance, Fiscal Engineering, Human Resources and Finance fields. In addition, consultants Tyno and Grant Thornton have waived their fees and are supporting the program in the administrative and donation auditing areas, respectively. The donations are being converted into goods or services depending on regional demands. “Brazil has very specific situations and needs across its various regions, and we are organizing the allocation of the resources according to the requests from states and municipalities, but always focused on healthcare, social assistance and science,” Joanita explained. Return to index 3 In addition to the exclusive team and the support of the different areas of JBS, a team of 130 of the Company’s professionals worked on mapping the regional demands together with over 200 local governments. This study involved diagnosing the local healthcare system, an analysis of how the virus is being propagated and how the JBS Doing Good Does Good Program could contribute to the healthcare and social assistance systems in support of the fight against the pandemic. In possession of the demands and based on the assumptions established by the independent committee, the investment decisions were drawn up to ensure that help gets to those who need it most as quickly as possible. The criteria adopted by Doing Good Does Good are supported by cross-checking data between the information collated from municipalities and states and a robust data base made available by the Albert Einstein, HCor, Sírio-Libanês hospitals and by Bionexo. This data base has consolidated on a single platform the registrations of cases of the disease, the number of deaths, the trend curve, geolocalization and local infrastructure. Return 4 to index A portfolio was also defined, consisting of inputs, hospital equipment, medications, and other essential items for combatting the pandemic. TAll these decisions were taken unanimously in the Consultative, Scientific and Social Committee, in the same manner as the definitions for donating to scientific research projects or to not-for-profit social organizations were taken in the scientific and social committees, respectively. DOING GOOD DOES GOOD Feeding the World with Solidarity Return to index 5 HEALTHCARE COMMITTEE The committee consists of Fernando Torelly, CEO of the HCor; Henrique Sutton de Sousa Neves, director-general of the Albert Einstein Hospital; Maurício Barbosa, founder and chairman of the board of Bionexo; Mohamed Parrini, CEO of the Moinhos do Vento Hospital in Porto Alegre; Paulo Magnus, president of MV Systems (healthcare management software); and Roberto Kalil Filho, chairman of the board of the InCor. “With the decisions on donations supported by committees of specialists, JBS has made it possible to bring to bear the experience of important Brazilian hospitals familiar with the reality of the SUS system, for example, in identifying priority items for tackling the pandemic and, consequently, in taking the proper decisions about the funds that will reach the different areas of Brazil,” Torelly explains. “The proceeds from JBS are affording something vital for beating the pandemic: speed of response. Creating structures to receive those who are ill and ensuring that the inputs and equipment reach the right locations on time are the huge challenges we face every day. Thanks to JBS, this task has been made easier,” Kalil Filho points out Return 6 to index SOCIAL COMMITTEE The social committee consists of Antonio Batista da Silva Junior, executive president of Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC); Carla Duprat, executive director of the InterCement Institute; Carla Matarazzo, executive director of the “Bem Maior” Movement; Celso Atahyde, founder of Central Única das Favelas (Cufa), and Francisco Azevedo, executive director of Kairos Inteligência Social. “The JBS donations provides important support for those requiring immediate assistance in dealing with day-to-day adversities aggravated by the situation we are experiencing,” Antonio Batista da Silva Junior, executive president of Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC) points out. “The grandiosity of the program precisely reflects the magnitude and plurality of our country. Millions of people requiring help will benefit now, and other millions today and in the future since the JBS donations will leave a huge legacy in many states and hundreds of cities.” Carla Duprat, of the InterCement Institute. Return to index 7 “We live in a time when working online, adopting a more collective approach, and strengthening this culture of collaboration in Brazil has been a reality for us to save more lives. The social plan of JBS represents a transformation because of its sheer size. We are managing to support people in vulnerable situations in different regions of Brazil, with speed and power that are transformational,” Carola, of Bem Maior, emphasizes. “JBS has been an important partner when we have needed them. These donations enable us to reach a new level and, for me, it has given me satisfaction to channel the resources to so many communities and those most in need. This social package is an example of engagement and solidarity,” Atahyde, of the Cufa, points out. Return 8 to index THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE The scientific committee consists ofJosé Medina Pestana, full professor of the Paulista Medical School/Unifesp and director of the Kidney Hospital; Pedro Hallal, dean of the Federal university of Pelotas (UFPel), and Sidney Klajner, president of the Sociedade Beneficente Israelita Brasileira Albert Einstein. “The engagement of companies like JBS in the fight against the novel coronavirus is fundamental. We need to join forces at this time in order to win. The path ahead of us is a long one, but with the support of science we are now moving apace, and we will win through,” Medina stresses. “Only science can bring a definitive end to this pandemic. In this respect, the donations program of JBS has taken the right approach by allocating priority to making available resources for 12 scientific research programs among its objectives and contributions. These resources now enable us to advance on many fronts, and I am certain that they will be decisive for overcoming what is nowadays the key challenge,” Hallal affirmsl. Return to index 9 “The JBS initiative will leave an important legacy for public healthcare, insofar as its provides resources that address the immediate needs of professionals in the front line attending to patients, in addition to equipping the healthcare systems with a wide range of peculiarities in country of continental proportions like Brazil,” Klajner points out. DOING GOOD DOES GOOD Feeding the World with Solidarity Return 10 to index EMERGENCY RESPONSE The emergency response initiatives include sending hospital individual protective equipment (IPE) essential for ensuring the safety of the teams in the from line of the fight against the virus; and food baskets, given the dire emergency social and food situation caused by the pandemic to the income of more vulnerable families. 405,772 food baskets worth R$ 23.5 million have been purchased so far. The Company has also contributed by donating foodstuffs it produces, including providing meals to medical teams. Donations of JBS products already amount to R$4.8 million, equivalent to 200 tons of protein. The JBS Supplies department has a team dedicated to procuring and delivering all the items requested and negotiated, which will be sent to over 300 hospitals and health centers served by the company’s donations program. Return to index 11 “Organizing the various fronts so that the donations get to all corners of Brazil has been a complex but gratifying task. The capillarity and the ability to go so far that we have here at JBS are key assets in enabling us to make a difference so that help gets quickly to those who need it.” points out Jerson Nascimento, Supply director at JBS in South America. Return 12 to index PUBLIC HEALTH Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was one of the main demands received by the program.

Each stream stretch had its midpoint located with a GPS satellite receiver and had its fish fauna sampled via a standardized environmental data and fish collection methodology (primarily utilizing electrofishing) with the aim of providing the following information about each stream: 1) the taxonomic composition of the fish fauna and the contribution of each species in that stream in terms of both number of individuals and biomass; 2) a photographic documentation of the live coloration of representative speci- mens of each collected species; and 3) the description of each sampled environment, with colored photographic illustra- tions and details of the main biotic and abiotic parameters.
