ABSTRACT TRACKING THE INVISIBLE: QUEER APPROACHES TO PARENTHOOD AND FAMILY IN TURKEY Sema Merve İş Cultural Studies, MA Thesis, 2013 Supervisor: Associate Professor Ayşe Gül Altınay Keywords: LGBT, Queer, Gender, Family, Parenthood, Ethnography This thesis focuses on the experiences of parents and the dreams and plans of parents-to-be that are abjected by the heteronormative family system. Based on semi-structured, in-depth interviews and participant-observation with lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer parents, the research explores the strategies developed by these parents for raising their children in the context of the heteronormative family system. How do these parents constitute a challenge for the “ideal nuclear family” form that is constitutive of nation-state practices? How do they experience or approach the school, which is heavily shaped by heteronormativity, as part of their parenting process? What are the different ways in which they define and experience themselves as “parents”? Asking such questions, this thesis critically analyzes the different articulations of queer parenthood and their challenge to compulsory heterosexuality, conjugality, and compulsory parental identification. The ethnography not only traces parents’ relations with their children and their children’s school, but also their self-identification as a parent in the dichotomous gender system.

Annex to ED Decision 2015/020/R The text of the amendment is arranged to show deleted, new or amended text as shown below: — deleted text is marked with strike through; — new or amended text is highlighted in grey; and — an ellipsis (…) indicates that the remaining text is unchanged in front of or following the reflected amendment. Appendix I to Annex IV to ED Decision 2003/019/RM is hereby amended as follows: APPENDIX I AIRCRAFT TYPE RATINGS FOR PART-66 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE LICENCES The following aircraft type ratings should be used to ensure a common standard throughout the Member States. The inclusion of an aircraft type in the licence does not indicate that the aircraft type has been granted a type certificate under the Basic Regulation and its Implementing Rules,; this list is only intended for the maintenance purposes. In order to keep this list current and the type ratings consistent, such information should be first passed on to the Agency using the Rulemaking Enquiry form (http://easa.europa.eu/webgate/rulemaking-enquiry/) in case a Member State needs to issue a type rating that is not included in this list. Notes on when the licences should be modified: When a modification is introduced by this Decision to an aircraft type rating or to an engine designation in the rating which affect licences already issued, the ratings on the Aircraft Maintenance Licences (AMLs) may be modified at the next renewal or when the licence is reissued, unless there is an urgent reason to modify the licence. Notes on aircraft modified by Supplemental Type Certificate (STC): It is not the intention of this document to include all aircraft modified by STCs because a great number of STCs were approved before 2003 and are unknown to the Agency.

  • Views of Pre-Service Primary School Teachers About the Integration of Children’S Literature in Mathematics Teaching*
International Journal of Progressive Education, Volume 16 Number 4, 2020 © 2020 INASED Views of Pre-service Primary School Teachers About the Integration of Children’s Literature in Mathematics Teaching* Derya Can i Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Ayşe Özer ii Ministry of National Education Burcu Durmaz iii Süleyman Demirel University Abstract This study aims to examine the views of preservice primary school teachers about the integration of children's literature in mathematics teaching. The views of the participants were collected before and after the use of a course outline based on the integration of mathematics with children’s literature. The study had a qualitative research design, and the opinions of the preservice teachers were evaluated extensively through the case study. The data were obtained through mathematics lesson plans and open-ended questionnaires developed about children's literature. The items in the first form were concerned with the experiences of the pre-service teachers about the integration of children’s literature in mathematics, their views on the selection process of children's books, and their expectations and evaluations regarding the practice. The second form was aimed to share their experiences following the implementation and to get their opinions about the teaching process which reflected the relationship between children's literature and mathematics. According to the findings, the views of the participants are grouped into the following four dimensions: book selection criteria and process, pedagogical effect, integration process, possible barriers, and limitations. It is found that the participants have difficulty in choosing children’s books that provide opportunities for learning mathematics to the children.
