The River & Rowing Museum is situated in an idyllic location on the banks of the . The Museum is housed in a stunning oak clad building, surrounded by meadows and willow trees. With galleries dedicated to the history of Henley, the River Thames, the international sport of rowing, and British artist John Piper and the hugely popular Wind in the Willows exhibition, there is something for everyone.

On arrival, your group will be met on board their coach by one of the museum’s friendly visitor services team, for a brief introduction to the museum.

The morning will be spent at leisure enjoying the galleries, and with a constantly changing series of temporary exhibitions, there is always something new to see. Recent exhibitions have included the work of sculptor Barbara Hepworth, David Hockney and William Morris.

A delicious cottage pie lunch, followed by tea or coffee and brownie and flapjack bites, will be served in the beautiful Thames Room, which has stunning views over the river and neighbouring meadows.

After lunch, there will be plenty of time to re-visit the galleries, spend some time in the Museum’s gift shop, or visit the café to sample one of their delicious home-made cakes. Alternatively the group could enjoy the shops and cafes in Henley town centre located just a short walk away.

Booking Terms & Conditions Admission prices are discounted rates and no further discounts are available. To qualify for the group rate, there must be a minimum of 10 people. All prices are inclusive of VAT. A single payment is required to qualify for group rates. All details, including final numbers and catering orders must be confirmed 14 days in advance and will be charged accordingly. Payment for admission, boat trips and catering can be made in advance by cheque (made payable to the River & Rowing Museum Foundation) or by debit/credit card by calling 01491 415619. Boat trips are available Monday – Friday between 10am – 4pm, for a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55 people. Boat trips for groups between 30-44 people are on board the Consuta and groups above 45 on the Hibernia. Boat trips are not available during or Bank Holidays. Cottage pie lunch quoted can be substituted for a similar dish, jugs of iced water and a serving of tea per person. Use of the Thames Room is subject to availability. Curator’s talks are available for a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 80. In gallery talks may be available for smaller group. Costs available on request Guided tours are available at an additional cost of £35.00 per guide for a 45 minute tour of the Museum. Maximum recommended group size per guide is 25 people. A deposit may be required for catering and boat trips. Invoicing available upon request. No refunds are applicable.
