Where to find us: Travelling by Car or by train to Henley-On-Thames Free car park To find us by Car: When you arrive, we suggest you initially park in the pay and display car park in front of the River and Rowing Museum Sat Nav RG9 1BF. This is right next to the boat and you can unload luggage. From Reading Road turn right at the traffic lights on to Thameside. Turn right at the second road on the right sign posted River and Rowing Museum (it’s the next turning after the road to the train station). Follow the road into the carpark and keep going to the very end of the carpark until you can’t go any further. Park there and you will see the boat. Directions to the free car park. Sat Nav code for free car park is: Mill Lane RG9. From the Reading Road, turn into Mill Lane at the Jet petrol station. Drive over the railway bridge and then you will see the entrance to the car park on the left hand side (Henley football club). Park your car in one of the bays and then walk through the gap in the trees, across the park to the River. At the river turn left walking towards Henley direction and we will be moored just outside the River Rowing Museum. To find us by rail from Henley Station. Exit the station and turn right and right again. Turn left in to a walk way and then turn left on to the road leading to the River Rowing Museum (Wind in the Willows car park). Walk past the River Rowing museum building (large modern building on your right hand side) and then on to the path at the River. You will see us moored further up. For Weekend Breaks 3 nights- Suggested Routes Going Downstream from Henley Marlow is 3.5 hrs downstream from , Henley. You can moor for free just before the road bridge Boat will be moored here at the start of your holiday and is to be returned here For 4 night breaks or longer going downstream You might like to explore further to Maidenhead or Windsor. Please remember that however long it takes you to cruise downstream, it will take longer to get back due to the current going against you (going upstream allow an extra half hour per hour’s journey downstream) Tip: Start your journey early in the morning to avoid lock queues and to ensure you get a mooring spot at your destination (arrive by 3pm to get a spot) Henley (8.5 hours) Going Upstream from Henley From Henley go down stream through Marsh lock. Pass through Shiplake Lock, Sonning lock. Henley to Reading is 3 hours To Pangbourne is 2 hours From Henley is 3 hours Oxford is 8 hours from here Water point. At Cleve lock (just upstream from lock) on RHS is a water tap. Tip: Always fill up with water whenever you pass a tap. Goring has free moorings just before the lock on the quay. Tip: To ensure you get a space, aim to arrive there no later than 11.30am (2 hours from Pangbourne). If full, go through lock and There is limited mooring space at Pangbourne. If no space, continue on to Beale park and moor there (3 hrs from Better Boating). Note you will need to use the mooring stakes as no moor on LHS . 2 hours from Reading What To Bring Luggage Space on board a boat is limited storage wise. We strongly recommend that you pack your belongings in a holdall type bag, rather than a suitcase. We don’t have much space to store luggage on board the boat. We recommend you travel light! Also, for those of you boarding in Henley, there is a short walk and you will have to carry your entire luggage. We provide all the bed linen and towels. You might like to bring food provisions with you. Foot Wear The decks on the boat can be slippery when wet and the interior wooden floors can be damaged by stiletto heels, so we ask you to please leave the high heels at home. Hair dryers This might seem a bizarre request, but we ask you not to bring high energy using gadgets such as hair dryers as it will drain the power from Geanna’s batteries very quickly! To assist you, all bedrooms have a hair dryer provided for your use. Candles & no smoking Geanna’s interior is all made in wood and for obvious fire safety reasons, no smoking is permitted anywhere (inside the boat and outside on decks) and no candles are permitted anywhere on the boat. We do supply romantic LED lighting! Outdoor Games DVDs and books Geanna will be moored next to parkland and it is ideal for outdoor games and dog walking. Please do bring games with you. We have on board a selection of indoor games for you to use. Please feel free to use our DVD selection. Our four legged guests Welcome to our doggie friends. Please make sure your owners have booked you before coming on the cruise. We ask your owners to bring all your dog bedding for you and also food and water bowls. The rules of the boat are: Dogs are not allowed on any of the beds or furniture on board Dogs must not be left unattended at any time on board GEANNA. Please clear up any accidents promptly as it will damage the floor Please don’t allow your dog to roam free outside the boat. Food provisions Henley has a Sainsbury’s and Waitrose supermarket within a 10 minute walking distance. If you are staying at Beale Park, there are no shops or pubs nearby and so it is necessary to bring all food and drink with you. All the bedrooms have complimentary tea and coffee sachets and we supply dish washer tablets to use and basic washing up materials. Geanna has fresh drinking water onboard. Arrival and departure times Check in Please arrive at 14.00hrs. We will meet you at the boat at this time. If you know you will be late, please let us know immediately Check out Check –out will be at 09.30hrs. We ask that you empty all the bins and that the dishwasher is empty and the boat is left clean and tidy. Checking out a day early If you need to leave a day early, please do inform us prior to your holiday. Mooring Fees In Henley you will have to pay nightly mooring fees. Henley charge £9.00 a night (except in Regatta week ). Mooring tickets in Henley can be purchased either from the ticket machine in the car park nearby (cash or cards accepted) or from the park attendants who will come by and say ‘Hello’ either in the morning or late afternoon (they accept cash or cheques and will issue you a council receipt to display in the window) It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure mooring fees are paid. Guests will be asked to display mooring tickets in one of the windows facing the bank for the wardens to inspect and to produce all paid tickets to myrivercruising at check out. Finally......
