A certain footballer was well known for saying 'It's a funny old game'. It's certainly that. We are now in a new decade, and when you analyse where we’ve come from, it truly is a remarkable rise.

The Decade just gone… 2009-2010 CCL Division 1 : 5th of 21 teams ------2015-2016 CCL Premier: 1st of 22 ( Champions ) 2016-2017 CCL Premier: 1st of 23 ( Promoted ) 2017-2018 EvoStik South E: 4th of 22 ( Promoted ) 2018-2019 Southern Premier South : 8th

We are indebted to our main sponsor Boss for their continued support, and to CSL and Honey Brothers . However, the level we now play at is well beyond the realms of true amateur sport, and whilst we are fortunate to have a band of loyal players, we still need to be financially attractive to them if we want to stay competitive at this level. Indeed, if we want to stay at this level.

And this is where you, the loyal Row Supporter, can play your part! We have launched a BUDGET BOOSTER FUND.

And it’s not just about the first team. We hear the concerns some have that the first team gets it all. But the donations importantly free up our resources to help us support all our other Saturday & midweek teams.

The substantial work we had to undertake to ensure the Memorial Ground achieved the necessary FA ground grading inevitably stretched the purse strings to the limit. The improvements, however, benefits all our teams and their sup- porters, making it a more pleasurable experience to watch games here.

At a time when the 11 a-side game at grassroots level is dying countrywide, we need your help to keep it alive locally.

We are running an online fundraising app on our website. The app accepts Pay- Pal & Credit Cards. Alternatively, you have the option of pledging a cash amount which you can then give at the clubhouse. It’s set to run until 31st March and the overall target is £4000. It is with much sadness that the League reports the passing of John Eastment on the morning of 10th February. John had been in hospital for the past few months and sadly passed away at 5am on Monday.

John had been an integral part of the between 1980 and 2016. He became a member of the League’s Management Committee in 1980 and was appointed Chairman in 1985 before handing that role to Doug Gillard in 1989 when he became a Life Member. After a period living and working in Portugal, he was elected once more as a Director of the Southern Football League in 2004 and served as the League’s Vice Chairman from 2005 until retire- ment in 2016, having also been Treasurer from 2007, and organised the League’s Annual Dinner in Torquay from 2003.

John was also a Southern Football League club man, having been a Director of Bridgend, Director of Merthyr Tydfil and Director and Treasurer of Taunton Town. John was a wonderful servant to the Southern Football League and since his retirement in 2016 was very keen to know what was happening within the League. He will be very much missed by all those that knew and worked with him. May he rest in peace. There will be a minute’s silence or applause before today’s game.

Help us Boost The Budget

Our rapid rise up through the divisions and all the work on ground grading has stretched the purse strings to the limit. Our playing budget is one of the lowest in the league, but this is where you can play your part as a Row Supporter. We've launched the BUDGET BOOSTER FUND in support of all our Saturday and midweek teams, helping keep 11 a-side alive locally.

Our website app at hartleyfc.com accepts PayPal & Credit Cards. Or there’s the option of pledging a cash amount which you can then give at the clubhouse. Every bit helps, so please donate whatever you can, and Thank you!
