In her spare time she writes fiction (her first fantasy novel ‘The Fool’ has just been published), works as an illustrator and is an accomplished jazz singer. About Rudy’s She has also penned the foreword for Asperger’s in Pink (Julie Clark, Future Horizons 2010) which is a mother’s account and a Presentations guide for parents with school-age girls with Aspergers or HFA. Rudy has prepared four presentation topics—she suggests choosing two topics for a full day program, and she can tailor one topic for a half day (3-4 hours) or short session (90 minutes). Presentation topics can be modified to take the perspective of the audience—people with ASD, parents/carers, service providers, clinicians and policy makers—or delivered in a more generalised format for mixed audiences.

A—Asperger’s and Employment This session discusses the main hindrances to finding and keeping gainful employment, the highly marketable traits inherent in Asperger Syndrome, managing health and stress and avoiding the cycle of numerous stops and starts common to those on the spectrum. B—Choosing the right career path Using the Personal Job Map to choose the right career, navigating the challenges of higher education, managing the interview process, making and keeping professional commitments—a practical look at these elements from the AS point of view. C—Female Asperger's Syndrome Females with Asperger's Syndrome can be much harder to spot than males. This workshop style session will be helpful to females on the spectrum who need to learn management strategies, their loved ones for insights and support strategies and professionals to help them understand the syndrome in females and its repercussions. This topic can be expanded to a full day program and include discussion of friendships, relationships, parenting, identity issues, behaviours, sensory issues and other related topics. D—Relationships & Asperger's Syndrome An examination of the challenges in a relationship when one or both partners is on the spectrum. This information workshop is full of practical strategies and would be great for professionals, families or partners of AS people, as well as AS people looking to improve their relationship skills. Rudy Simone is keen to speak to Consumer, Self help or Support groups and Service Providers – education institutions, adult programs, social groups, peak bodies and similar. All sessions are booked via Rudy’s tour organisers, the Autism Noticeboard. Full day, half d ay or short 90 minute Book a sessions are available.
