The training presented here is a one-day training. There are many different possibilities (more days, a cyclus etc.). This is just an example in order to get an impression of what is possible. Specifically designed for groups from abroad and also Dutch people who want to get acquainted with a Japanese martial art (Kobudo-Bujutsu). The training and presentation sessions are given in Dutch, English or German. It is not only technical training but also a presentation of the philosophy, koryu knowledge and showing original scrolls (makimono). The courses are suitable for all graduations and for women and men (aged 8 years and older). Suitable for a group of about: Jujutsu styles 20 people and Bugujutsu (armed) styles 12 people depending on the martial art. Duration: morning 09.30 to afternoon 17:00 hours. It can be held almost every day of the year. Beforehand we speak together on a possible date. The teacher is the headmaster of the Shin tai ryu, drs. Mark WJM Sterke, grandmaster-teacher, 9th Dan. 1 The weekend will be held at the premises of the Shin tai ryu in Tilburg, Netherlands. We have access to a dojo (practice room), gyoba (outside practice place), chatei (tea pavilion with kitchen), take niwa (bamboo garden and Japanese garden) and changing rooms, shower and toilet. Program training Japanese martial arts: Morning 9:00 hours Arrival and change for training 9:30 to 12:30 hours Training with short breaks Afternoon 12:30 to13:30 hours Lunch 13:30 to 16:30 hours Training and presentation with short breaks 16:30 to 17:00 hours Presentation certificate, group photo and a drink ("Hupsaké"). 17:00 hours End and safe journey home! Requirements: appropriate clothing (minimum loose clothing), practice weapons (depending on the martial arts) and towel and personal care products. Cost: € 65,00 per person for the whole day with a minimum of 8 people. If less than 8 people, an appointment is made in advance on the scope, nature, dates and costs. A fee will be charged by shorter notice. The price includes: training, presentation, lunch, coffee and tea, usage of the accommodation, participation certificate (in Japanese) and end drink ("Hupsaké"). 2 Not included in the price are other beverages. On the training day you will learn Jujutsu techniques of this beautiful school. It will includes a presentation of several bookscrolls of this martial tradition (original ones!). The aim of the research material was to provide a factual description and explanation of the functioning of the organization of martial arts, according to the 15th century tradition of Japanese fencing. This is Shibu Kobudo that has been operating in Poland for 20 years. A theoretical perspective was used for analysis and reflection and included: the history of physical culture, the soci- ology of culture, the humanistic theory of martial arts and the haplology and anthropology of martial arts. Methods. Analysis of sources and the content of the existing studies and literature on the subject was applied in the manuscript. This includes, among other things content analysis of documents, photographs, popular magazines and direct participation in the events described in this paper. In addition, the authors used the participatory observation method – as they are both participants in and direct observers of the described events. Results. Improved and supplemented factual descriptions (in relation to the subject matter of literature) are presented. The activities of pioneers and leaders, activists, organizers and teachers are set out. This is a particular asset for the classic martial arts (kenjutsu, kobudo) that may attract enthusiasts for the next meeting for practical studies.

Ōtake Risuke, Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-Ryū Observer: Mifuji Yoshio, Executive Director, Nippon Budōkan Kōmura Masahiko, Chairman, Nippon Budōkan 1 Ōtake Risuke Born Taishō 15 (1926). In Shōwa 17 (1942), he entered Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-Ryū under Hayashi Yazaemon Iekiyo at 16 years of age. In June of Shōwa 35 (1960), the school was designated a Chiba Prefecture Intangible Cultural Asset, and he was appointed guardian of the tradition. Besides this, he worked as a Chiba Prefectural Swords and Firearms Registration Examiner over a period of 30 years. Due to his achievements as a guardian of an Intangible Cultural Asset and in the sword industry, he received an Award for Regional Achievements from the Minister of Education. In the spring of Heisei 17 (2005), he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays. Kōmura Masahiko Born Shōwa 17 (1942). He was first elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Shōwa 55 (1980), and was elected a total of 12 times. He was the Heisei 10 (1998) Minister for Foreign Affairs, Heisei 12 (2000) Minister of Justice, Heisei 19 (2007) Minister of Defence, and Heisei 19 (2007) Minister for Foreign Affairs.
