"I'm not gonna get AIDS." they'll say. And then It happened to Magic Johnson. On November 7, Johnson, all-star point guard for the NBAs Los Angeles Lakers and member of the U.S. Olympic Basket- ball team, announced that he had tested positive for the HIV virus, which leads to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syn- drome).
