The announcements, though not accompanied by sanctions against the Chinese government, were intended as a forceful condemnation of activities a senior Biden administration official described as part of a “pattern of JOB irresponsible behavior in cyberspace.” They highlighted the ongoing threat from Chinese hackers even as the administration remains consumed with trying to curb ransomware attacks from Russia-based syndicates that have targeted critical infrastructure. The broad range of cyberthreats from Beijing disclosed on Monday included a ransomware attack from government-affiliated hackers that has targeted victims —including in the U.S. — with demands for millions of dollars. To reproduce rock art there must be an orig- inality that is difficult to define within the conventional limitations of that tradition. This unusual task of reproduc- ing prehistoric art has to free itself from the postmodern political burden and at the same time not be reaction- ary, which is no small thing in conservative times.

Aruban art rock inspired paintings, in particular, have an uncanny ability to tread the aesthetic and political fault- line between the Western colonial perspective and that of the Aruban cultural and the indigenous landscape memory. All these arts work is indicative of a more sophis- ticated re-invigoration of the islands indigenous aspect which is gaining force in contemporary art circles.
