Y/2 Y Branch Closure Impact Assessment Closing branch: NotUniversity final Road document 28 University Road Belfast BT7 1NH Closure date: 24/06/2021 Information correct as at: February 2021 Y Y/3 Y/3 Y Y/2 1 The world of banking is changing and so are we Bank of Ireland customers in Northern Ireland have been steadily moving to digital banking over the past 10 years. The pace of this change has increased recently. Since 2017, for example, digital banking has increased by 50% while visits to our branches have sharply declined. Increasingly, our customers are using Post Office services with 52% of over-the-counter transactions now made in Post Office branches. We have invested in technology that enables customers to bank digitally - including launching a new banking app and updating our online banking. Alongside this we have also introduced digital ways to pay with Google Pay and Apple Pay. Today, almost 80% of our customers are using online as their preferred channel to open a personal account. As we continue to adapt, we must change how we provide banking services. Therefore, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close University Road branch on 24 June 2021. However, in line with regulatory guidance, we will consider the impact on customers of the closure date should lockdown measures be inNot place at that finaltime. document How we made the decision to close this branch When we close a branch, we complete a detailed analysis which includes: • How customers are choosing to bank with us. • How often customers use the branch and how that is changing.

  • Branch Closure Impact Assessment Belfast Donegall Square East
Branch Closure Impact Assessment Santander, 6 Donegall Square East, Belfast BT1 5HL This branch will be closing on 31 May 2018. We’d like to explain why, and help you understand how you can continue banking with us. Background to our approach Santander UK is a signatory to the Access to Banking Standard, a voluntary agreement introduced in May 2017. The Standard aims to ensure that where banks decide to close branches, their customers are communicated with openly and treated fairly. We continue to invest in our branch network and, over the last five years, all of our largest and busiest branches across the UK have been refurbished. Increasingly however, customers are changing the way they choose to bank. In addition to using our branches, more and more people are banking with us by phone, online, on tablets and smartphones as well as at cash machines and Post Offices. As a result, some of our branches are being used less often. We don’t take the decision to close any branch lightly and we assess each branch individually to understand the potential impact for customers, and the alternative options available to bank locally. This leaflet outlines our approach when considering whether to keep a branch open and our specific assessment of the Donegall Square branch. 1 Branch assessment Before reaching the decision to close the branch at Donegall Square, a full internal review of the branch was undertaken, including: n The facilities in our Donegall Square branch and the surrounding Santander branches n The way our Donegall Square branch customers
