Borah High School Student-Athlete Named Gatorade® Idaho Boys Basketball Player of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [email protected] BORAH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETE NAMED GATORADE® IDAHO BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO (March 26, 2020) — In its 35th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, today announced Austin Bolt of Borah High School as its 2019-20 Gatorade Idaho Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Bolt is the fourth Gatorade Idaho Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Borah High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Bolt as Idaho’s best high school boys basketball player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award, Bolt joins an elite alumni association of past state boys basketball award winners, including Karl-Anthony Towns (2012-13 & 2013-14, St. Joseph High School, N.J.), Dwight Howard (2003-04, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, Ga.), Chris Bosh (2001-02, Lincoln High School, Texas), Paul Pierce (1994-95, Inglewood High School, Calif.), Chauncey Billups (1993-94 & 1994-95, George Washington High School, Colo.) and Jason Kidd (1991-92, St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, Calif.). The 6-foot-4, 210-pound senior forward led the Lions to a 22-5 record and their second straight Class 5A state title this past season. Bolt averaged 19.4 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 2.1 assists and a block. A two-time First-Team All-State selection entering the season, Bolt scored 35 points with six rebounds and four steals in the state championship game win over Post Falls. -

If you’re filling out this form to apply for admission, you’ve come a long way! It contains a lot of detailed information, please read it thoroughly. The following will help you understand the requirements for admission and guide you through the process. There’s a lot here – read carefully. Do not hesitate to contact the program director, your health programs advisor, or other physical therapist assistant (PTA) program faculty with concerns or questions during the process. Students are accepted into a “cohort”, a group of students who start the program at the same time, enroll, and complete the same program courses, perform clinical education and graduate together as a group. -

Technical Brief: 2018-19 Student Engagement Survey Introduction This report provides a technical overview of Idaho’s 2018-19 statewide administration of the Cognia™ Student Engagement Survey (SES) to elementary, middle, and high school students, which was conducted from February 1st through March 15th, 2019. The SES collects feedback directly from students about their learning experiences. Survey results provide a useful summary of the insights learned from student responses and provide schools and districts with the opportunity to understand student engagement in greater detail. These insights enable schools, districts, and states to engage in more collaborative conversations with institution stakeholders to better respond to the needs of their students. Data from completed surveys are reported at the school, district, and state level and results are categorized by type and level of engagement. The school receives data on the percentages of Committed, Compliant, and Disengaged students for each of the three engagement domains (Behavioral, Cognitive, and Emotional) based on completed responses. At the state level, data is reported annually as an indicator of school quality as part of the state’s accountability system under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This “Student Engagement” indicator accounts for 10% toward the identification of K-8 schools for comprehensive support and improvement. High school survey results are used solely for reporting purposes . Instrument Overview There are generally four ways to measure student engagement: self-report surveys, teacher reporting, interviews and observations. Of these four, surveys and observations are the most widely used and reliable. The SES is based on extensive research and collects direct feedback from students regarding their level and type of engagement in the learning process while assessing how much they enjoy school on a variety of practical and actionable levels.
