Cole Slaw OROFINO PHYSICAL THERAPY Easy if using a food processor! 8 cups finely chopped green cabbage (1 average head) & WELLNESS ½ cup finely chopped carrot (1 carrot) 2 Tb. minced onion 1 cup chopped red cabbage, if desired, but add just before serving to maintain color in slaw Cole Slaw Dressing ½ cup sugar 1 cup good quality mayonnaise ½ cup buttermilk 3 Tb. White vinegar ¼ cup lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste, at least ½ tsp. Whisk all dressing ingredients together. Mix with veggies, taste to test. Let slaw sit at least 3—4 hours in refrigerator, or overnight. Stir again, taste, drain if needed, and serve cold. April 12, 2012 - Orofino, ID - Supplement to the Clearwater Tribune--19 Welcome to Dworshak Dam and Reservoir Dworshak Dam and Reservoir is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Dworshak Dam Visitor Center overlooks a 717’ straight-axis, concrete, gravity dam, with a reservoir that extends 54 miles into rugged Idaho timberland. Visitor Center hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend; and Monday-Friday during the remainder of the year. Guided tours are available during summer months. To get to the Visitor Center, drive fi ve miles west of Orofi no, Idaho On Highway 7; turn right onto Viewpoint Road and follow the Visitor Center signs for about two miles.

Dent Acres Campground is the Army Corps of Engineers 43 site, full service (water, 50 amp electric and sewer amenities) campground located 20 miles from Orofi no. In 2012 the campground is scheduled to open on April 5 through November 30 (weather permitting). Operating on a fi rst come-fi rst served basis, the campground offers a sewage dump station, hot showers, fl ush toilets, covered picnic tables, grills, fi sh cleaning station, boat launch (no launch fees) and playground. Golden Age/Access Passports and America the Beautiful Senior/ Access passes are accepted. Campsite fees vary from $10-$18 per night. Dent Acres Group Camp and Dent Acres Sun Shelter are available by reservation by calling 208-476-1255 or 208-476-9029. There are other campgrounds with primitive facilities (no electric, running water to sites or fl ush toilets) available on a fi rst come-fi rst served basis: Dam View, Canyon Creek, Grandad, Little Meadow Creek ORMV (off road motor vehicle) and 72 mini-camps located along the shoreline from river mile 3.5 to 50 (mainly boat in only).

Recreation docks, both destination docks and safe harbor docks are are found at various locations throughout the reservoir. Destination Docks provide tie-up points for picnics, swimming and sunbathing. Safe Harbor Docks provide tie-up points for large vessels at extended distances from moorages. These docks may be used by the public for general recreation regardless of vessel size.

Fishing opportunities on and below Dworshak Reservoir include: Kokanee - Good fi shing year round. Smallmouth Bass - Dworshak is home to Idaho’s state record smallmouth bass weighing 9.72 lbs. Rainbow trout - Fishing is good year round in all areas of the reservoir.
