Second Announcement

We are pleased to announce the International Conference on Generalized Functions GF2009 Topics in Partial Differential Equations, Harmonic Analysis, and Geometry which will take place at the of , August 31 - September 4, 2009.

Aims and Scope: This conference continues a long-standing tradition of international con- ferences on generalized functions gathering researchers working in all branches of ‘generalized functions’. As seen with the most recent conferences held in Guadeloupe (France, 2000), (Serbia, 2004) and B¸edlewo (Poland, 2007) the spectrum of interrelations with other fields of mathematics and applications has been steadily increasing. Following this trend, GF2009 aims at a broad coverage of research in generalized functions (distribution theory, algebras of generalized functions), linear and nonlinear PDEs (solvability, regularity, applied analysis), harmonic analysis (modulation spaces, time-frequency analysis and pseudodifferential operators), and applications in geometry (linear/nonlinear distributional geometry) and mathematical physics (general relativity, mathematical geophysics). Confirmed Plenary Speakers: Soon-Yeong Chung (Sogang University, Seoul) Jean-Francois Colombeau (Universit´eJ. Fourier) Maarten V. de Hoop (Purdue University) Yuri V. Egorov (University of Toulouse) Todor Gramchev (Universit´adi ) Karlheinz Gr¨ochenig (Universit¨at Wien) Barbara Lee Keyfitz (University of Houston) Stevan Pilipovi´c(University of Novi Sad) Luigi Rodino (Universit´adi Torino) Michael Ruzhansky (Imperial College ) Bert-Wolfgang Schulze (Universit¨at ) Mitsuru Sugimoto (Nagoya University) Joachim Toft (V¨axj¨oUniversity) James A. For finalizing your registration you need to provide the following information:

• Personal data and affiliation. 2

• Travel dates.

• Mode of payment for the conference fee.

• Title and abstract of your talk.

Accommodation: Participants are expected to book hotels by themselves. We recommend that you do this soon (keep in mind that September is peak holiday season in Vienna). To assist you in finding suitable lodging, special rates for hotels in various categories (as well as in student dormitories) have been arranged and can be booked online at: http://www.mat.univie.ac.at/˜gf2009/accommodation.html.

Important Dates: The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is May 31, 2009. Please also make sure that you book your accommodation in time. Funding: Partial support will be available for a limited number of participants. The primary target group for funding are research students without financial support of their own. If you belong to this group and your participation depends on financial support, please contact the organizing committee at [email protected]. The final decision on (partial) funding will be made shortly after the deadline for registration (May 31).
