The Office of International Education is here to assist you. By completing this UNO-Innsbruck Credit Approval Form (CAF) in a timely manner, you will experience a smooth transition in determining your study abroad credit transfer equivalency for UGA. It is never too early to begin this process…...so why not start today?

Instructions

1. This version of the CAF is for use for UGA Students studying abroad with the University of Innsbruck International Summer School only. This form serves to pre-approve transfer credit, help students determine how UNO courses will apply toward UGA degree requirements and allow for the release of UGA financial aid and HOPE scholarship for the term abroad. See page 2 for additional financial aid information

2. a) Complete Sections #1 - 5. Use the attached table of the pre-approved UNO-UGA course equivalencies. Include alternate courses in case of registration changes.

b) Meet with your Academic Advisor to review your course selections. Your advisor will complete and sign Section 4B. Discuss with your advisor if it is necessary to consult individual academic department for more specific course approvals.

c) Complete Section 4C only if you need more specific course approvals. Consult the academic department for which you need specific course approval.

POST CREDIT APPROVAL FORM CHECKLIST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DROPPED ANY COURSES THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED FOR AT UGA. This is important because after the CAF is processed, your records will be flagged, indicating your program and preventing you from dropping or adding any UGA courses for that semester. If you have any questions regarding student financial aid and study abroad, call or visit the Office of Student Financial Aid TODAY. Financial Aid is located in the Holmes-Hunter Academic Building on North Campus. Take a copy of your completed CAF to your appointment. Make sure your passport (and visa, if necessary) will not expire sooner than 6 months after your return date. Visit us at http://www.uga.edu/oie/satravel.htm for important travel information. Make sure you are covered by health insurance plus medical evacuation and repatriation of remains coverage through one of the following: (1) Your study abroad program policy; (2) UGA study abroad policy (brochures available at the Office of International Education); or (3) Your parents’ policy plus an International Student ID card (to cover evacuation and repatriation). International Student ID cards may be purchased for $22 in the Office of International Education. Make an appointment with the Travel Clinic to be clear about required vaccinations for your study abroad destination. Record and take with you on your trip, the name and email of your academic advisor .
