Männedorf is located between Zurich and Rapperswil at A14 the lake of Zurich. Generally, we recommend using Luzern public transportation to get to Tecan. In the greater area Milano (I) A3 there are reliable train connections running every 15 to Chur 30 minutes. Traffic jams in Zurich city center and in Rapperswil, however, are very likely to occur, especially during peak times.
2. Travel to Tecan by public transportation
2.1 Tickets
The local train system (S-Bahn) is operated by ZVV (Zürcher Verkehrsverbund). Tickets can be bought at the sales desks of SBB (Schweizerische Bundesbahn) at Zurich main station or at Zurich airport. Alternatively, three different types of ticket machines are available.

There are two different categories of tickets you can buy. ½ refers to children or to Swiss half fare travel cards. At all the machines you can pay with Mastercard, Visa, AE, Maestrocard and Cash CHF (preferably 10 CHF and 20 CHF bills).
Multiple-journey tickets
A multiple-journey ticket has to be validated before entering the train at the following machines. These machines can be found on every platform.

Single Tickets (= one way, valid for 2 hours) or Day Pass (= round trip, valid for 24 hours)
Zurich airport - Uetikon 6 zones 2nd class Adult (1/1) Single ticket: CHF 12.60 Day pass: CHF 25.20
Zurich main station - Uetikon 5 zones 2nd class Adult (1/1) Single ticket: CHF 10.60 Day pass: CHF 21.20
Zurich Stadelhofen - Uetikon 5 zones 2nd class Adult (1/1) Single ticket: CHF 10.60 Day pass: CHF 21.20
Rapperswil - Uetikon 4 zones 2nd class Adult (1/1) Single ticket: CHF 8.60 Day pass: CHF 17.20
Rapperswil - Zurich All zones 2nd class Adult (1/1) Single ticket: CHF 16.80 Day pass: CHF 33.60

Multiple-journey tickets
If you use the same route several times, a multiple-journey ticket is recommended (on one ticket there are six Single Tickets or six Day Passes). This ticket needs to be validated before entering the train.

FROM ZURICH MAIN STATION OR ZURICH STADELHOFEN: From Zurich main station and Zurich Stadelhofen lines S7 (destination Rapperswil) and S6 (destination Uetikon) can be taken. There is a train leaving every 15 minutes.
FROM RAPPERSWIL: From Rapperswil only line S7 (destination Winterthur) is available. There is a connection every 30 minutes.
FROM ZURICH AIRPORT: From Zurich airport train has to be changed at Zurich main station. There are several trains leaving to Zurich main station. From Zurich main station lines S7 (destination Rapperswil) and S6 (destination Uetikon) can be taken. There is a train leaving every 15 minutes.
2.4 Travel by boat

The boat departs at ZURICH, BÜRKLIPLATZ (close to train station Stadelhofen) and arrives at MÄNNEDORF. It takes about 1.5 hours to get to Männedorf by boat.
The same is possible from RAPPERSWIL to MÄNNEDORF. This ride takes about 45 minutes.
A ticket for the boat has different prices than the one for the train as other zones are involved.
2.5 From train station Uetikon to Tecan
ARRIVAL FROM ZURICH:
You arrive on platform 2 or 3. Walk further in the same direction as the train. Take the underpass and turn right (direction lake).
ARRIVAL FROM RAPPERSWIL:
You arrive on platform 1. Walk into the opposite direction as the train. Take the underpass and turn right (direction lake).
After leaving the underpass proceed to the Opel garage and then turn left. This is “Seestrasse”.
Walk along the “Seestrasse” until you cross Tecan on the left hand side.
3. Travel to Tecan by car
