The digitalization of music has brought a wide range of formats and qualities of music. Most music files are compressed, meaning that information is taken out of the original recording. The more compressed the files are, the poorer the quality of the music.
However, developments in technology make it possible to enjoy music where compression does not affect the quality, also called ‘lossless music’. With music in lossless quality, no audible data has been removed, and it is therefore possible to hear the same as in the original recording.
