    ANÁLISE E DESEMPENHO DOS VELOCISTAS NO CAMPEONATO BRASILEIRO MENORES DURANTE 10 ANOS João Paulo Kauit* Alberto Inácio da Silva** RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os resultados obtidos por velocistas, nas provas de velocidade na categoria menores, durante o campeonato brasileiro no período de 2000 a 2009. Este estudo é classificado como sendo descritivo retrospectivo. Como base de dados foram utilizadas as informações disponíveis no site da Confederação Brasileira de Atletismo, Confederação Sul Americana de Atletismo e no da International Association of Atlhetics Federations, relativa às provas de velocidade na categoria menores, que inclui adolescentes com idade de 13 a 17 anos, do sexo feminino. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância (ANOVA) com dois critérios, seguido do teste de Tukey para comparações entre os valores médios de desempenho. Para a avaliação do decréscimo do desempenho ao longo dos anos de acompanhamento foi utilizada o coeficiente de declividade da reta pela análise de regressão. Após análise dos dados observa-se que das 90 medalhas (ouro, prata e bronze) distribuídas no período de 10 anos em cada naipe, as atletas com 17 anos são os mais premiados, seguido pelas atletas de 16 anos. Apesar da tentativa de massificação desta modalidade desportiva por todo o Brasil, observa-se que são poucos os estados que conseguem se destacar no atletismo.
